DIVISION ONE:
Fleetwood v Barrow
Australian professional Aaron Keverne-Onyon was the star of the show for captain Toby Mowat's team, as he impressed with both bat and ball.
Onyon came to the crease after both Mowat 15 and fellow opener Dean Williams 12 had fallen cheaply, and put together a good partnership with Kiwi wicketkeeper Jamie Pinfold.
Pinfold made 34, and Onyon 57, with former skipper Daryl Wearing also chipping in with 31 as they eventually totalled 196 all out in the 45th over handing Fleetwood 55 overs in which to reach their target.
Neels Bergh was the pick of the home bowlers, as he returned figures of 5 for 52 from 12.3 overs.
In reply the home side lost their top-three for only nine runs between them, with Wearing taking two scalps and Onyon one.
Bergh provided some resistance with 29 from number four, but added his name, plus that of Declan Clerkin to his list of scalps.
The major concern for Barrow came when Joseph McCluskie and Tom Wilson came together at numbers six and seven. McCluskie top-scored for the match as he went on to make 75 and Wilson contributed.
But Onyon trapped McCluskie in front, and Ryan Gilmour had Wilson caught by Williams, with the Australian adding the final three wickets as Fleetwood were all out for 181.
Onyon ended the day with figures of 7 for 53 from 14 overs, with the result lifting Barrow above their opponents to seventh in the Northern League standings.
Kendal v St Annes
Kendal Cricket Club held on to claim a losing draw against St Annes in a rain-affected game at Shap Road.
Kendal had bowled St Annes out in the first innings for 169, with Jason Dawes taking 3-43.
The Auld Greys were on course for victory when Ben Phillips hit a second-innings high score of 48, however once he had been dismissed Kendal collapsed and had to rely on Shane Hyland and Toby Tyson to guide them 163-9 as they claimed seven points.
After winning the toss and electing to field, Kendal made a strong start with St Annes being reduced to 39-3, as Tom Higson was run out by Chris Miller before Tyson despatched both Henry Higson and Mustafi Duraani who picked out Ryan Shepherd.
Edward Price saw off Alex Bradley as St Annes fell further into further difficulties on 47-4.
Kendal continued to take wickets as Miller bowled Richard Staines while Dawes bowled Josh Taylor with St Annes at 91-6.
However Matthew Breetzke and Andy Drake began to frustrate Kendal as they recovered onto 158-7.
Club professional Breetzke, who posted a top score of 96 off 102 balls, was finally dismissed as Dawes trapped the South African for LBW.
From that point Kendal ripped through the lower order as Saeed Bariwala claimed the wicket of Mitchell Bolus who was stumped by Shane Hyland, while Dawes clean bowled Matthew Yeadon for his third wicket of the afternoon.
Bariwala went on to return figures of 2-8 as Matthew Grindley was dismissed for two as St Annes were all out for 169 from 46.4 overs.
In reply Kendal made a steady start as Zachary McCaskie and Ryan Shepherd put on a first wicket partnership of 16. St Annes made the crucial breakthrough after Shepherd picked out Breetzke off the bowling of Mitchell Bolus before McCaskie fell to Matthew Grindley as Kendal were reduced to 37-2.
Phillips and Oliver Tyson dug deep to guide Kendal onto 67, before Tyson was bowled by Matthew Yeadon for 17 off 47 balls.
Phillips and Bariwala played some good shots as Kendal looked on course for their first home win of the season, however St Annes claimed the crucial wicket of Phillips who was caught behind by Staines off the bowling of Yeardon. Phillips dismissed for an impressive knock of 48 off 93, which included a four and three sixes.
Kendal from that point collapsed from 114-4 to 147-7, as Grindley dismissed Bariwala, Dawes and Price.
With the game reduced to 49 overs due to the rain St Annes piled on the pressure as Richard Dakin was run out before Grindley finished with figures of 5-29 as Miller picked out Yeardon.
In the end it was left to both Hyland and Toby Tyson who ensured Kendal held on for the losing draw as they closed on 153-9. Hyland undefeated with a steady knock of 15 off 31 balls, while Tyson stayed in to score one run from two balls.
Lancaster v Blackpool
Lancaster held their nerve to pick up a big win over Blackpool at Lune Road on Saturday.
Captain Ben Simm hit the winning runs off the penultimate ball of the game as the hosts got home by three wickets in an exciting finish.
After the game had been reduced to 40 overs, Sri Lankan professional Kasun Madushanka took 4-32 as Blackpool posted 135-7 batting first.
Lancaster were behind the rate in reply at one point but some big overs at key times set up victory, Simm hitting a cover drive off the second to last ball that brought the three runs needed for victory.
Madushanka had raced out of the blocks at the start of play, taking the first three wickets to fall, including professional Anurag Verma for a duck, as Blackpool slumped to 17-3.
Liam Moffat (2-62) then removed Matthew Houston and at 23-4 the hosts sensed a big chance.
Stephen Twist steadied the ship with 33 however and put on 54 for the fifth wicket with Andy Furniss before top-scorer Josh Boyne's unbeaten run-a-ball 36 ensured Blackpool posted a competitive total batting first.
In reply, Joseph Hills (20) and Jamie Heywood (7) made a solid start but both fell in quick succession to leave Lancaster on 29-2
Charlie Swarbrick (30) and Kieran Moffat (19) rebuilt however and set a platform before both being removed by Verma, who with 3-54 was the pick of the Blackpool bowlers.
Wickets then fell at regular intervals, the hosts slipping from 81-3 to 88-6, with Simm's unbeaten 31 including three fours, proving key.
He got support late on from Brendan Hetherington who scored all of his 14 runs in boundaries, two fours and a six.
Six were needed from the final over and three from the final two balls, skipper Simm diving home to seal the 15 points as Blackpool lost for the first time this season in all competitions.
Morecambe v Leyland
Morecambe picked up their first win of the Northern Premier League season by knocking off 2016 champions Leyland at Woodhill Lane on Saturday.
After a delayed start the visitors were restricted to 150-7 batting first after home skipper Ryan Pearson had won the toss.
Vice-captain Eddy Read led the front with 4-72, professional Ashan Priyanjan also taking 3-48.
It was a good day for the Sri Lankan with his first half century for Morecambe helping them to a welcome five-wicket win with five balls to spare.
Read had started as he meant to go on removing Leyland's paid man Pabasara Waduge 10 as he took the first four wickets to fall with the visitors slumping to 30-4.
The wicketless Tommy Clough bowled an important, economical spell at the other end to keep the pressure on.
Ross Bretherton 56 and Tom Reece 45 battled hard to lead the Leyland recovery frustrating Morecambe as they looked to dismiss the visitors cheaply.
Pearson's men were always in control though and once Priyanjan warmed up he got in on the act to help restrict the defending champions.
In reply Morecambe lost Viraj Bhatia 0 to a third ball duck but Priyanjan 50 was soon into his stride.
He mixed fine strokes with some risky play as Lewis Smith 25 batted sensibly at the other end.
The young all-rounder ultimately misjudged a straight one from Henry Thompson which brought Pearson 20 to the wicket at 65-2.
The next partnership always going to be crucial. Priyanjan brought up his first half century for the club before falling the very next ball caught at mid-wicket trying to sweep a ball that was fractionally too full.
Read 36 not out picked up from where he left off with the ball however and with his captain took Morecambe into a winning position at 100-3.
Pearson departed controversially, walking when caught at slip only to be later told he shouldn't have.
Luke Pearson 16 batted with maturity to support Read before missing a straight one, leaving Tommy Clough to find the boundary and secure victory with a sweetly-timed flick off his pads.
Penrith v Netherfield
Marc Hadwins first innings return of 6-18 and Ben Barrow's undefeated second innings knock of 59 off 104 balls guided Netherfield to a comfortable 8 wicket win at Penrith.
Netherfield who are now joint second in the table dominated from the start and were soon into the Penrith batting attack after Greg Hall picked out Lewis Richardson off the bowling of Mark Clarkson before Ben Barrow ran out Samuel Hall as Penrith slumped onto 22-2.
There was brief rest bite for the hosts after Sri Lankan Professional Banuka Rajapaska and Jessie Dinnie put on a third wicket stand of 61 however Netherfield claimed two quick wickets to dismiss Dinnie and Rajapaska.
Dinnie the first to fall after being dismissed by Marc Hadwin, before Rajapaska fell to Pienaar with Lewis Richardson on hand to take the catch.
Eddie Robson and Jonothan Osborne stayed in to push Penrith from 83-4 to 100, before Robson was caught behind by John Huck after playing at a Marc Hadwin delivery.
Hadwin went onto finish with figures of 6-18 after Jonothan Osborne, Harry Lee, Kieran Trevaskis and Jake Marshall were all dismissed by the spinner. Osborne the first to fall after Josh Dixon collected the catch before Lee picked out Lewis Richardson, while Trevaskis was caught by Pienaar, with Marshall the last to fall after his poor effort was caught by Brad Earl.
Netherfield cleaned the innings up after Pienaar ran out Jamie O'Brien as Penrith were all out for 142 off 43.2 overs.
In reply Netherfield made the worst possible start as Brad Earl was caught and bowled for 0 by Bhanuka Rajapaska, Netherfield recovered thanks to Ben Barrow and Josh Dixons who put on a second wicket stand of 81.
Dixon fell for 41 after being bowled by Jonothan Osborne,, However Ben Barrow and Obus Pienaar put on an undefeated stand of 65 as Netherfield knocked the runs off to close on 146-2 off 36.4 overs. Ben Barrow undefeated on 59 off 104 balls while Obus Pienaar scored an undefeated 40 off just 31 balls.
Preston v Chorley

Chorley bowled Preston out for 58, Edwin Moulton with a return of 4-11 and James Lee 3-15.
