The most amazing week so far in Division 1 as all top team lose with the exception of leaders Netherfield who were held to a draw at Fleetwood

DIVISION ONE:

Blackpool v Morecambe

Morecambe won the toss and decided to bat at Stanley Park

What turned out to be a hard day for batsmen Morecambe opener Viraj Bhati top scored with 57 with Kelly Smuts making 20 and Adam Derham 10 as the visitors struggled to 132 all out in 41 overs

The Blackpool bowlers shared the wickets with Tom Jefferson 4-23 off 9 overs supported by Jamie Thomson 2-13 off 6, Joshua Boyne 2-51 from 16 and Gant Thomson 1-12 off 4

The Blackpool reply was a disaster with the top three gone with the score on 7 with two wickets to Kelly Smuts and 1 to Edward Read

Grant Thomson was out for 21 with the score on 24-4 leaving Joshua Boyne and Andy Furniss to dig in and give Blackpool some hope

They took the total to 73 when Joshua Boyne was out for 24 follwed 2 runs later by Furniss for 23 leaving Blackpool on 75-6

Ben Howarth battled to keep Blackpool in the game but was the last man out for 39 with the score on 119 in the 41st over.

Tommy Clough with 5-27 did the damage with the other wicket takers being Edward Read 2-15, Kelly Smuts 2-46 and Adam Derham 1-9

Fleetwood v Netherfield

Fleetwood won the toss and pit the league leaders into bat at Broadwater in a reduced to an 88 over game

Josh Dixon 31 and Ben Barrow 13 gave the visitors a start but only a stand with Lewis Edge 55 and Bradley Earl 36 enabled Netherfield to reach 180 all out in the 44 overs

For Fleetwood Alex Ryder took 3-17, Sam Bell 3-47 off 17 overs, Joe Bell 2-17 and Joseph McCuskie 1-34

The Fleetwood reply started badly losing 3 early wickets and only Neels Bergh 73no and 22 from Adam Shorrocks gave the home side any chance of staving off defeat

At the end James Amor 6no stayed with Bergh to see Fleetwood close on 152-8 in their 44 overs

The Netherfield wicket takers were Mark Clarkson 3-31, Nathan Chambers 2-39 and Tom Williamson 1-30

Kendal v Chorley

In a rain reduced over match of 27 overs a side Chorley invited their visitors to bat at Windsor Park

The Kendal operners Zachary McCaskie and Ryan Shepherd gave the visitors a good start with 49 for the first wicket with the departure of Shepherd for 27

Jason Dawes joined McCaskiie and they shared a stand of 60 when McCaskie was out for 56. Kendal closed on 145-6 in their 27 overs with Dawes making 30

Ian Oakes was the pick of the Chorley bowlers with 3-16 off 4 overs

In reply Chorley started well with an opening partnership of 34 when Ian Oakes was out for 24 the first victim for Jason Dawes

Dawes then took control with only Edwin Moulton 13 and Matthew Sedgman 11 reaching double figures as Chorley were bowled out for 75 in 23.4 overs

Jason Dawes finished with figures of 6-36 off 11.4 overs ably supported by Chris Miller with 4-21

Lancaster v Barrow

Lancaster were put in to bat at Lune Road in a reduced over match of 29 per side

After the loss of an early wicket Lancaster were progressing well with Luane Atkinson and Charlie Swarbrick

The introduction of Sam Henderson into the attack was dramatic, He removed both Atkinson 34 and Charlie Swarbrick 38 before doing a demolition act on the Lancaster innings

Ben Simm 25 was the only Lancaster batsman to show resistance as Lancaster closed on 146-9 in their 29 overs

Sam Henderson had the remarkable figures of 8-47 off 9 overs

The Barrow reply followed the Lancaster opening losing an early wicket then runs for Toby Mowat 38 and Dean Williams 37 but after their departure Greg Reynolds 25no was on hand to guide Barrow home on 150-6 in 27 overs

The Lancaster bowlers shared the 6 wickets with Iain Perrieman 2-32, Ben Simm 2-35 and Kasun Madusanka 2-50

Penrith v St Annes

St Annes won the toss and invited the hosts to bat and soon made inroads into the Penrith batting having them 29-3 two wickets to the inform Matthew Grindley

When Jesse Dinnie was out for 34 with the score on 71-6 St Annes were in a strong position but Jonathan Osborne 34 and 20no from Jamie O'Brien saw Penrith reach 149-8 in their 50 overs

Shaun Von Berg had the remarkable figures of 3-21 off 17 overs supported by Matthew Grindley 3-52 off 17 and Tom Higson 2-20 off 8

In reply St Annes recoverd from the loss of early wickets to reach 108 when Nathan Armstrong 24 was the fourth man out. On 111 Shaun Von Berg 48 was out and the tail soon followed as St Annes were bowled out for 130 in 38.5 overs

Greg Hall 5-39 off 15 overs and Jesse Dinnie 4-34 off 11.5 were the Penrith destroyers

Preston v Leyland

Preston won the toss and asked Leyland to bat and proceeded to bowl them out for 97 in 38.1 overs

Tom Reece 35 top scored with Andrew Makinson making 19, Rizwan Alin was the Preston hero with 5-34 ably assisted by Andrew Starkie taking 2-20 off 12 overs

The Preston openers went after the Leyland bowling, Geeth Malinda making 28 and Sajid Patel 42no with 25no from Lukman Vahaluwala saw Preston home on 101-3 in 16.2 overs

Division Two

Division 2 Round Up:

Like Division 1 there were suprises in store for the leading teams

Barrow v Lancaster

Lancaster won the toss and invited Barrow to bat and bowled them out in 33.4 overs for 66

Zac Coward top scored with 25 and Nathan Baxter was the Lancaster star with 6-22 off 11.4 overs with support from Jacob Orr 2-15 and James Davies 1-10

In reply Lancaster lost Danny Welbourne for 17 but Reuben Orr 27no and Farooq Mughai 16no saw them home at 68-1 off 20.5 overs

Chorley v Kendal

Put into bat Chorley openers Max Harper 24 and Jack Bentham 20 gave them a good start but only Andy Flear 18 and Rob Gardner 17 reached double figures as a result Chorley were all out for 98 in 37.2 overs

The hero for Kendal was Alec Carradus with 7-29 off 12 overs with Toby Tyson chipping in with 2-10

In reply Ryan Nightingale with 51 put the visitors in charge with Oliver Tyson 15 and Mike Dugdale 15no saw them home on 100-5 in 28.2 overs

Leyland v Preston

Preston asked the hosts to bat and they made hay declaring after 42 overs on 207-4, Thomas Murray 65no and Ian Farrington 55no with Jivitesh Riju 46 their run makers

The Preston reply struggled but Moshin Patel 47 and Mohammed Llyas 44 gave them hope but at the close they finished on 133-7 in their 48 overs

Morecambe v Blackpool

In a 50 over match leaders Blackpool won the toss and put Morecambe in to bat

In their 25 overs Morecambe scored 94-5 with Steven Fisher 49no their top scorer with Izhar Ullah making 22

Blackpool made a valiant effort to knock off the runs with Sam Owen 27 and Dylan Henshall 19 but had to settle for the draw ending on 91-8 in their 25 overs

The Morecambe wicket takers were Izhar Ullah 3-20, Lloyd Smith 3-20 and Uzar Shah 2-40

Netherfield v Fleetwood

The match was abandoned without a ball being bowled

St Annes v Penrith

Penrith were asked to bat first and were bowled out for 132 in 37.3 overs with Henry Marshall 26, Richard Sykes 26 and Keelan Spurrell 23 their main scorers

Doing the damage for St Annes was Nathan Bend with 6-40 off 12 overs

St Annes were always in charge and knocked off the runs 133-5 in 29 overs with Nantesh Kiruoparan 37, Josh Taylor 31 with Paul Williams 16no seeing them home
