DIVISION ONE:
Blackpool v Netherfield - Stanley Park
Blackpool continued their unbeaten streak as they made it four wins in a row with a convincing victory over Netherfield on a sweltering day at Stanley Park.
After electing to bowl first, Netherfield picked up an early wicket as Matthew Houston was trapped LBW by Dan Ingham, but this was as good as the early going got for the Cumbrian side as Ciaran Johnson 47 added 44 with Daryl Mitchell 24 for the second wicket and 48 for the third wicket with Tom Jefferson 30.
After James Park Johnson 3-16 removed both Johnson and Jefferson it was left to the returning Richard Gleeson 42no and the Blackpool lower order to take the total to 192-6 in 50 overs.
The reply from the Parkside Road outfit did not start well as they were reduced to 4-2 thanks to some accurate bowling from the new ball pairing of Jamie Thomson 1-26 and Richard Gleeson 4-14.
Skipper Ben Barrow batted watchfully for 18 but when he departed things were looking bleak at 37-5. The lower order did offer some fight but they were always up against it despite some lusty hitting from Dan Ingham 42.
Eventually it became too much as the Blackpool spinners applied pressure and wickets began to fall with Daniel Pile the gleeful recipient as he spun his way to 4-33, leaving Netherfield 109 all out in the 37th Over.
Chorley v Leyland - Windsor Park
Leyland fought back from the brink to retain their position at the top of the Northern League as they restricted Chorley to 94 all out in defence of a meagre total at Windsor Park.
After winning the toss and electing to bat Leyland found it tough going as Karl Cross and Richardt Frenz were removed for low totals, Chris Parkinson 30 remained firm and began to build a partnership with Henry Thompson 17.
Nathan McDonnell was also carefull as he made 18 from 49 deliveries but after both were removed by Wihan Lubbe 5-29 things become much tougher for Leyland. Fortunately, the lower order had the wherewithal to face as many deliveries as possible and this foresight was rewarded as David Makinson hit a breezy 32 to take Leyland to a total of 126 all out in the 49th Over.
Facing something of a challenge, Leyland were soon into their stride as Karl Cross 1-34 removed Stuart Naden, however, the Chorley top order were resilient as Ian Dickinson 18, Wihan Lubbe 23 and Jack Bentham 28 batted attentively to keep the scoreboard moving.
Although it was not to be for Chorley as David Makinson proved the value of experience as he removed each of the aforementioned batsmen in bowling unchanged to take 4-34, he was supported by youngster Ross Bretherton who bowled an excellent six over spell and collected 3-11. Their combined efforts left the Windsor Park side 94 all out in the 33rd Over, allowing Leyland to collect a well-earned 15 points.
Fleetwood v Preston - Broadwater
Fleetwood came out on top in a high scoring encounter against Preston at Broadwater as Travis Dean plundered more runs in another fantastic batting performance for the Australian.
After being asked to bat Dean and Adam Parker 20 made good early progress at the top of the order before the latter was removed by Andrew Starkie 1-28, Dean Bell then joined the Australian and set about the Preston attack as Bell made 49 before he was dismissed by the pick of the West Cliff bowlers, Lukman Vahaluwala who collected 3-14.
Eventually Dean was dismissed by Saeed Bariwala 2-53 and Preston were able to limit the damage as the scoreboard read 208-7 at the 50 over mark.
Similarly, Preston had a good start as Sajid Patel 64 and the top order got the chase underway but it did not last as all but one fell to the leg spin of Patrick Ashton who collected 7-60 in 17 overs.
However, it was not plain sailing for the Fylde Coast Side as Irshad Desai hit an unbeaten half century in combination with Nizamudin Patel 29 as they got Preston within sight of the winning line.
Fortunately for Mat Clark's men they could not hold their nerve as Ashton removed the latter and Travis Dean collected the 10th wicket as Preston were bowled out for 190 in the 42nd over leaving Fleetwood in 4th position with just over a third of the season complete.
Kendal v Lancaster - Shap Road
Kendal picked up an impressive 15 points at Shap Road as they blitzed past the target set by their visitors from the Lune Valley on a beautiful day in the South Lakes.
Ben Simm won the toss and elected to bat, he was indebted to innings of 51 from Charlie Swarbrick and 61 from Kieran Moffat as they were the only Lancaster batsmen to make the Shap Road attack work in what was an otherwise barren card for the Lune Road side.
Wesley Fernando was the pick of the attack for Chris Miller's side as he picked up 5-25 from his 11 overs, including the crucial wicket of Moffat.
Kendal would have had some confidence in chasing the target of 155 for victory but they would not have expected to pass the target with such ease.
The Shap Road outfit made good early progress as their openers put on 40 for the first wicket, however this was surpassed as Lesiba Ngoepe walked to the crease and proceeded to produce an innings of the highest calibre as he hit a scorching 74 from just 41 deliveries to see the Cumbrian side home in the 24th over.
Morecambe v Barrow - Woodhill Lane
It was another high scoring game at Woodhill Lane as Morecambe entertained high flying Barrow who were fresh from a bank holiday break.
Said break did not have any effect on Kaustubh Pawar's batting prowess as he was in imperious form at the top of the order for Toby Mowat's side.
Pawar held the innings together as he made 125 in an innings which lasted 117 balls and included 9 boundary fours and 7 sixes.
He was ably supported by the Barrow top order who batted around him with a notable mention going to Sam Dutton who made 30 as Barrow racked up a mammoth total of 268 in their allocated overs.
Although it was a somewhat trying day for the Morecambe attack it did not preclude them from taking wickets as Edward Read picked up 4-73 and Daryn Smit collected 5-88 as they capitalised on the free flowing nature of the Barrow innings.
In reply the Woodhill Lane side made a dreadful start as both openers were lost for a combined total of 5 runs, and it didn't get much better as Daryl Wearing 2-50 and Javed Khan 2-42 both struck again to leave Morecambe in trouble.
Thankfully for Josh Dixon and the Morecambe faithful, Daryn Smit had other ideas as he made second century in as many games, Smit hit a composed 115 as he and the lower order began to recover the innings for Morecambe with number seven Ryan Pearson hitting 56.
The Furness Peninsula side continued to collect wickets with regularity as Greg Reynolds collected 3-53 but it was not to be as Morecambe fought a rear guard action in making Barrow settle for the Winning Draw as they finished 225-8 in the 50th Over.
Penrith v St Annes - Tynefield Park
St Annes picked up their second victory of the season after making relatively short work of Penrith as they travelled to Tynefield Park on Saturday.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat, St Annes were in a spot of bother at 24-2 as Zakhele Qwabe 3-61 and Paul Hindmarch bowled well with the new ball.
The Vernon Road Professional Shadley Van Schalkwyk then shared in a third wicket partnership of 49 with Gurman Bains 25 but after the latter was removed Hindmarch began to pick up wickets at regular intervals as he made his way to a splendid 7-37 from 15.5 overs.
Shadley Van Schalkwyk could do little but add runs at the other end whilst the St Annes innings collapsed around him as he fought gallantly in making a staunch 83 to take the Fylde Coast side to 166 all out in the 49th over.
In reply the Penrith innings didn't really get going as early wickets from Van Schalkwyk 4-39 stifled the Tynefield Park top order.
Chirs Marrow who was occupying the openers slot offered some resistance as he scored 49 but it was somewhat futile as Van Schalkwyk and more latterly, Mitchell Bolus bowled with accuracy to take wickets at regular intervals.
Mitchell Bolus removed the heart of the Penrith batting line up taking 4-25 from 12.3 overs as the Cumbrian side were bowled out for 124 in the 42nd over.

Division Two
Division 2 Round Up:
It is all change at the top as Netherfield put in a well organised performance in restricting the then league leaders Blackpool to a losing draw at Parkside Road.
As temperatures soared, Netherfield were asked to bat and Sam Owen was quickly rewarded as the dangerous Craig Walmsley and Liam Dugdale were removed in the opening overs, yet this was as good as it got for the Stanley Park outfit as Joe Atkinson 73 and Brendon Herron 41 added 93 for the 3rd wicket.
There was little respite for the Blackpool attack as Oliver Hill 38 and Scott Clement 37no closed the innings out for Netherfield as they finished 219-5 in the 45th over.
Blackpool's response began reasonably as Sam Owen 48 and Daniel Dixon 13 put on 33 for the first wicket, nonetheless Netherfield then collected two quick wickets and Blackpool were on the back foot from then on in as the Parkside Road spinners made life tough.
There were contributions from the lower order including a timely knock of 30 from Nathan Dixon but it was not to be as Blackpool were made to fight hard to keep Netherfield to a winning draw, thus allowing them to move into pole position in Division Two.
Fellow front runners Leyland and Chorley had the honour of playing each other as the sides met at Windsor Park.
Leyland made a tremendous start with the bat as each of their top order contributed to a considerable total of 208-8 from 45 overs with Hamza Khan the pick as he scored 55 from 102 balls to hold the innings together for Ian Farrington's men.
Captain Alex Howarth and Jack Busch were the pick of the bowlers for the side as they collected 3-56 and 3-42 respectively.
In response Chorley were reduced to 21-2 but watchful batting from the top order kept them in the hunt as they moved to 143-5. Some tight bowling from Michael Birchall 2-25 and Elliot Boardman 4-48 restrained Chorley and the Fox Lane side began to pick up regular wickets.
A fantastic innings from Michael Critchley 55no prevented Leyland from collecting all 10 wickets and the game finished in a draw as Chorley ended 184-8 and consolidated their position in the top three of Division Two.
Morecambe and Penrith both pulled off fantastic run chases as they beat Barrow and St Annes respectively on good batting tracks at Ernest Pass and Vernon Road.
At Ernest Pass Barrow were asked to bat first and they made good headway as Peter Deeks 32 and Matthew Wall 52 build a good foundation.
Guy Heffernan 51 and Patrick Allington 47 made good on the early start as they guided the Cumbrian outfit to 219-5 from their allocation.
Barrow's defence got off to a fantastic start as Paul Riley 4-45 collected the wickets of the Morecambe openers with haste, despite a poor start to the chase Morecambe were not fazed as their middle order scored runs with zeal,
Steven Fisher 50 and Izhar Ullah 59 picked up half centuries in the process, in the end it was left to numbers 10 and 11 to claim a splendid victory for Morecambe as they moved to 220-9 in the 45th over in the evening sunshine.
At Vernon Road the fixture took a very similar composition as the St Annes top order took advantage of a good batting track, Geeth Malinda Kamburuganuwe 53 and David Batholomew 48no were the major contributors as the Fylde Coast side scored 190-9 in their allocation,
Bruce Glendinning was the pick of the bowlers for Penrith as he claimed 3-26.
In response Penrith were in a spot of bother at 31-2 as run scoring opportunities were stemmed by Richard Thomas 3-17 but a mixture of youth and experience got the Tynefield Park outfit back on track as Mark Osborne made 64, Joe Stamper 32 and finally Kieron Trevaskis who made 75 not out in a partnership of 90 with Osborne as he saw Penrith to a six wicket victory in the 40th over.
It was almost a repeat of Bank Holiday for Fleetwood as they made up for their loss with a nervy victory over Preston at West Cliff.
It all looked to be elementary for the Broadwater outfit as they routed Preston for 68 in 31.5 torrid overs for the Ribble Valley side. Will Reader 3-26 and Declan Clerkin 3-2 were the outstanding performers with the ball as they both collected three wickets.
Preston were not about to go down without a fight and they certainly made themselves known as Abdullah Kadva 3-9 and the remainder of the attack picked up regular wickets in reducing the Fleetwood top order to shreds, fortunately Declan Clerkin chipped in with a timely 19 to move Fleetwood in sight of the winning line and it was left to Will Reader 6no and Tom Clarke 4no to see them home as they finished 69-8 in the 31st over.
At Lune Road, Kendal almost picked up their second victory of the season as they fought valiantly in coming up 12 runs short chasing a total of 163 that had earlier been set by Lancaster.
After winning the toss Lancaster made good progress as their top order scored runs at a good rate with Ruben Orr 30 and Paul Dawson 30 being the main protagonists.
However, the Lune Road side did not have it all their own way as Carl Weiss 3-35 and Alec Carradus 3-23 bowled well to restrict Lancaster to 163 all out in 43.5 overs.
Kendal had a good start with the bat as Matt Clarke 47 and Ryan Nightingale 20 got the chase underway, however the Shap Road side began to falter as Elliot Mason 4-39 and Nathan Baxter 4-33 began to pick up wickets.
Some handy lower order contributions from Tom Aspinwall 20 and E Burrow 26 almost took Kendal to the winning post but it did not come to fruition as they fell short, finishing 151 all out in the 40th over.
