DIVISION ONE:
Blackpool v Kendal - Stanley Park
Kendal picked up their first major points haul of the season as they racked up 219-7 on a typically flat Blackpool wicket.
Blackpool won the toss and elected to bowl and there was immediate reward as Daryl Mitchell 3-55 picked up the wickets of Braithwaite and Herron in his early overs.
This brought Chris Ngoepe 66 and Syed Ali 76 to the crease and they combined to make life tough for the Stanley Park outfit as they put on 78 for the third wicket.
Both were eventually removed by Richard Gleeson 2-69 but this did not stop the flow of runs as Wesley Fernando 35 guided Kendal to 219-7 in the fiftieth over.
Blackpool's openers made a watchful start as they set out to knock off a not insurmountable target.
However their efforts were interrupted by rain as the weather changed on the Fylde Coast, on resumption Kendal began to pick up wickets as Blackpool tried to pick up the run rate.
Chris Miller 3-25 removed Matthew Houston and Ben Howarth in consecutive deliveries to keep Kendal in the hunt but some attentive batting from Daryl Mitchell 39 and Richard Gleeson 40 frustrated the Kendal attack and their push for victory was finally halted in the 35th over as the gloom set in on a chilly evening at Stanley Park.
Fleetwood v Chorley - Broadwater
Fleetwood came back from a Bank Holiday drubbing to beat Chorley at Broadwater with a fine all round performance.
Fleetwood batted first and made a solid start as Travis Dean 64 and Dean Bell 49 combined to keep the scoreboard ticking over in the early part of the game.
Chorley professional Wihan Lubbe 3-65 picked up the key wicket of Dean just as he was looking to open up, this gave the Windsor Park attack some impetus as they began to pick up wickets regularly
Patrick Ashton 20 provided some stability for Fleetwood as he marshalled the tail to take Fleetwood to 175-7 at the 50 over mark.
In a similar vain to their batsmen the Broadwater attack made good early headway as the returning Ian Holland 2-18 and Alex Ryder 1-19 combined to remove the Chorley top three before they could get going.
>Wihan Lubbe 36 batted vigilantly as he tried to keep Chorley in the game but wickets continued to fall at the other end as Mike Clinning 3-30 and Patrick Ashton 4-49 bowled with accuracy to prevent the Chorley batsmen from scoring at the required rate.
The game ended as James Lee was LBW to Ashton to leave Chorley 122 all out in the 37th Over.
Lancaster v Leyland - Lune Road
Leyland made short work of Lancaster to ruin their unblemished record at the start of the season.
Lancaster won the toss and elected to bowl on what proved to be a good wicket at Lune Road, Chris Parkinson 2 and Karl Cross 19 were dismissed early to give the Lancaster bowlers some hope but Henry Thompson 54 and Richardt Frenz 25 combined to rebuild the innings for the Fox Lane side.
They were ably assisted by some watchful lower order batting from Ross Bretherton 38, Dale Vardy 17 and James Rounding 15 as Leyland moved to 184 all out.
Callum East had a tremendous day with the ball as he collected six wickets for 60 runs including that of the dangerous Frenz, East will now be well known to the Leyland batsmen as his only previous First division five-for came against the Fox Lane side last season.
Jamie Heywood and Alex Metcalfe made a solid start for the Lune Road side as they tried to keep Lancaster in with a chance of victory
Karl Cross 5-43 had Jamie Heywood caught at the wicket and wickets began to fall quickly as the Fox Lane bowling attack moved swiftly to dismiss Lancaster for 98 in 35.4 overs with Cross bowling well to remove five of the top six batsmen.
After such a commanding victory Leyland now sit comfortably atop the Northern League table on 56 points, 16 ahead of their nearest rivals Fleetwood.
Netherfield v Darwen - Parkside Road
Darwen's early season form did not improve as Tom Bruce hit a blistering 81no from 52 balls to take Netherfield to their first victory of the season on a muggy spring day at Parkside Road.
Earlier Darwen had won the toss and elected to bat and their innings got off to a reasonable start as David Bowden 39 and John Cordingley 25 built a good foundation.
After Cordingley was removed by Marc Hadwin 2-36 wickets began to fall at regular intervals as Mark Clarkson 4-48 made life tough for the Darwen batsmen.
Shrikant Wagh was the only other Birch Hall player to offer any resistance with a knock of 41, helping Darwen to a score of 144.
The East Lancashire side made a spirited start as Ben Barrow 2 and Dan Ingham 10 were removed early in the piece, however this only brought misery for the Darwen attack as Ben Phillips 33 and Tom Bruce combined to put on 74 runs in no time.
Ben Phillips left the wicket at 95-3 as Chris Wade had him caught, but it was not to be for Darwen as Bruce 81no and Huck 18no then punished the bowlers as they took Netherfield past the winning post in the 25th over.
Preston v Morecambe - West Cliff
Preston won their first league game since the 7th of September 2014 as they came out victors in a very tight game against Morecambe.
Preston won the toss and had no hesitation in electing to bat at West Cliff, a decision that was vindicated as Mustafa Durrani 33 and Irshad Desai 55 scored runs with relative ease at the top of the order.
Batting at four Lukman Vahaluwala helped to push Preston past the 200 mark as he scored 79 against a Morecambe attack which had otherwise picked up wickets at regular intervals and Preston reached 217 - 8 after 50 overs.
Coming out to bat after tea Morecambe were soon under pressure as the Preston attack led by Andrew Starkie 6-43 ran through their top order, fortunately for the Woodhill Lane side they could count on some stability in Viraj Bhati 39 and Edward Read 36 as they began to rebuild the Morecambe innings.
Alas neither of them went on to make a telling score and it was left to Tommy Clough 23 and Gert Maartens 25 to try and claim victory but it was not to be as Maartens and Jamie Cassidy were both stumped by Nizamudin Patel to leave Morecambe 14 runs short, thus allowing Preston to attain a sweet victory on home turf.
It was a great day for Preston wicketkeeper Nizamudin Patel who had 6 victims in the innings
St Annes v Barrow - Vernon Road
The St Annes attack had a testing day as Barrow racked up 272-7 at Vernon Road to leave the Fylde Coast with a winning draw.
Opener and Marquee Overseas player Kaustubh Pawar was indefatigable as he carried his bat in scoring 124no at the top of the order, he was well supported by Sam Dutton 76 as they built a solid platform to allow the Barrow lower order to come in and score quickly to take the Ernest Pass side to a not insignificant total of 272 from their allocated overs.
It was a tough day for the St Anne's attack as runs were scored at a quick rate, professional Shadley Van Schalkwyk 3-59 was the pick of the bowlers.
Confronted with such a task the St Annes batsmen batted watchfully as Luke Wilks 16 and Gurman Bains 30 built a good foundation.
Toby Mowat used seven bowlers to good effect as Barrow began to pick up wickets with regularity. Although the Vernon Road side were under pressure it did not affect their batsman as Richard Staines came in at 7 and hit a timely 73 to keep the scoreboard moving.
When he was dismissed by Greg Reynolds 4-42 the game was very much up but Barrow had to settle for a draw as their attack could not take the final two wickets to claim victory in the murky evening conditions that prevailed on the Fylde Coast.

Division Two
Division 2 Round Up:
Kendal v Blackpool
Blackpool made further headway at the top of Division Two as picked up a nine wicket victory at a sweltering Shap Road.
Kendal won the toss and batted first, they were soon in trouble as the Stanley Park attack got into its stride with Chris Baines 5-15 and Joel Watson 2-23 bowling accurately.
At 26-6 Kendal were in the mire but Nick Lewthwaite 28 and Ryan Nightingale 18 combined to give some stability until Lewthwaite was caught off the bowling of Matthew Siddall 3-9, wickets then fell quickly to leave Kendal 76 all out.
Defending such a meagre total Kendal had little option but to attack, they quickly found some success as Daniel Dixon was LBW to Tyson, this was to be the only success of the day for the Cumbrian outfit as Sam Owen 27no and Ciaran Johnson 38no saw the Fylde Coast side home in the 20th over.
Chorley v Fleetwood
Chorley put in a fantastic performance at Windsor Park to claim victory against a Fleetwood side that had gone unbeaten in the early weeks of the season.
After being asked to bat by the Fylde Coast side, Chorley made hay as Ian Oakes 49 and Jack Catterall 65 with captain Alex Howarth 50 went on to make half centuries to take Chorley to 234 All Out in the 44th over.
Kieran McGann 3-68 and Wayne Clarke 3-14 were the pick of the bowlers on a trying day for the Broadwater attack.
Fleetwood would have certainly fancied their chances of knocking off such a total given their batting form in the preceding fixtures. Paul Willis 71 and Wayne Clarke 24 got Fleetwood off to a good start.
James Gregson 43 provided further assistance but it was not to be for the Broadwater outfit as Joe Barker picked up key wickets en route to collecting 6-33 as Fleetwood were bowled out for 210 in 39.2 overs.
Darwen v Netherfield
Netherfield collected a well-earned 15 points at Birch Hall as they beat Darwen by 60 runs.
Having being asked to bat the Cumbrian side began well as Craig Walmsley 84 quickly got into his stride, he was well supported by Brendon Herron 21 and Liam Dugdale 57 as Netherfield declared on a score of 200 in the 36th over.
In a similar fashion to Netherfield, Darwen started well with the bat as Zac Whalley 73 and Mark Emery 29 made good progress in the early overs.
However this soon changed as Scott Clement 5-19 and Liam Dugdale 4-51 were introduced into the attack and eventually managed to work their way through the Darwen middle order to leave the East Lancashire side 140 all out in the 48th over.
Barrow v St Annes
St Annes picked up their second victory of the campaign as they travelled to the Furness Peninsula to face a Barrow side that has struggled at the start of the season.
A number of the Barrow top order managed to get going but none of them could go on to make a big score as the St Annes attack bowled tightly throughout the innings.
Max Livesey was the pick of the bowlers for the Vernon Road side as he picked up 5-37 in 11.5 overs.
Barrow made good initial progress as they dismissed the St Annes top three in the early overs but they found more resistance in the form of Henry Higson 53no and brother Jake Higson 48 who formed a good partnership as they guided St Annes past the winning post in the 36th over.
Leyland v Lancaster
Leyland made short work of Lancaster at Fox Lane after putting in a commanding batting performance.
Hamza Khan and Tom Reece put on 195 for the first wicket as the Lune Road attack were made to toil. Khan was eventually removed for 66 but Tom Reece went on to claim the first Division Two hundred of the season as he racked up 127 at the top of the order. Leyland scoring 241-3 in their 45 overs
Facing such a task the Lancaster batsmen made a reasonable start as Danny Welbourne 14 and Haris Pervaiz 15 saw off the opening bowlers, however this was as good as it got for Lancaster as Ellis Robinson 4-28 and Michael Birchall 5-15 ran through the Lancaster order to reduce them to 74 all out in the 34th over.
Morecambe v Preston
Morecambe were involved in another close game at Woodhill Lane as they made their way to a 3 wicket victory.
After asking Preston to bat they got off to a good start as Lewis Smith 3-34 removed Mohsin Patel for a duck, Saif Ullah 38 was resilient at the other end as he built small partnerships with Akmal Shah 10 and Yasin Boda 24 but after he was removed by Muhammed Patel 3-23 the Preston middle order was exposed and Morecambe moved quickly to bowl Preston out for 97 in the 35th Over.
Morecambe made steady progress as a number of batsmen made starts to chip away at the target but Preston took regular wickets to make the task tough for the Woodhill Lane side, however, Phil Dennison 28no remained sturdy to guide Morecambe to 99-7 in the 29th Over.
