DIVISION ONE:
Barrow v Blackpool - Ernest Pass Memorial Ground
Blackpool had something of a red letter day as they put in a sparkling performance to beat Barrow at Ernest Pass.
After being asked to bat first on a bowler friendly wicket the Stanley Park outfit were soon in bother as numbers 1,2 & 4 were soon back in the hutch.
Stephen Twist 34 and professional Daryl Mitchell 24 set about recovering the innings for Blackpool and they made good progress until Mitchell was removed by Javed Khan 2-17 and Twist fell to Greg Reynolds who picked up 5-41 from his 12 overs.
Further contributions from Andy Furniss 21 and wicketkeeper Ben Howarth 24 saw Blackpool to a useful total of 168 all out at the end of the 50th over.
In response the Cumbrian outfit barely had time to draw breath as Blackpool found their rhythm almost immediately.
Andy Furniss removed all but one of Barrow top order in a scintillating spell of bowling which saw him collect 6-21 from 14 overs.
It was left to off spinner Josh Boyne 2-15 and Twist 1-1 to conclude the game as Barrow were reduced to 61 all out in the 32nd over.
Blackpool's victory means that they now sit in second place on 129 points, 3 points behind Leyland in the Northern League table
Darwen v Penrith - Birch Hall
Match abandoned without a ball bowled.
Kendal v Morecambe - Shap Road
Kendal continued their march up the Northern League table as they successfully chased a revised target to claim victory against Morecambe on a damp day at Shap Road.
Josh Dixon won the toss and elected to bat, things did not get off to the best of starts as Laurence Read 0 was removed by Syed Ali 3-11 before he had chance to trouble the scorers.
Ali then went on to claim the valuable wicket of the Woodhill Lane professional Saeed Anwar Jnr for 10 as Morecambe struggled in the early part of their innings.
Fortunately, Lewis Edge 27 and Lewis Smith 31 managed to recover the innings somewhat before the former was removed by Wesley Fernando 3-26.
In addition, there were some small contributions from the tail as they helped Morecambe to a total of 140 all out in the 50th over.
Owing to the inclement weather the Kendal innings was reduced to 20 overs with revised target of 99 and the Shap Road side wasted little time in getting the runs as Syed Ali 50no and Adnan Ghaus 31 blasted Kendal past the winning post in the 14th over.
Lancaster v Preston - Lune Road
Preston's recent run of good form was brought to an end as they were beaten by Lancaster in a low scoring affair at Lune Road.
The Lune Valley side were asked to bat first and they made good progress as a number of their top order batsmen got off to reasonable starts, unfortunately none were able to go on to make a telling contribution as the Preston bowlers pegged Lancaster back with regularity.
The pick of the Preston bowlers was Saeed Bariwala who picked up 4-23 in an action packed 5.5 over spell. Lancaster were eventually reduced to 129 all out in the 44th over, which could certainly be considered as a challenging total to defend.
However, the Lune Road outfit did just that as Callum East and Ben Simm reduced the Preston response to tatters as they blew the West Cliff top order away with probing spells which returned 2-38 and 6-21 respectively.
The only Preston batsmen to offer any resistance were captain Sajid Patel 29 and Rizwan Ali who made 34 not out as Preston fell 39 runs short of Lancaster's target after being bowled out for 90 in the 38th over.
Leyland v Fleetwood - Fox Lane
Fleetwood picked up a valuable 9 points as they came out on the right side of a draw at Fox Lane.
After winning the toss and electing to bat the Fylde coast outfit got off to a good start as Travis Dean 15 and Adam Parker 36 got things moving.
However both were removed by Will Jacques 2-32 before they could go on to higher honours.
The Fleetwood middle order then chipped in with meaningful contributions as Tom Wilson 25, Patrick Ashton 31 and Adam Sharrocks 38no all batted with care to take Fleetwood to 161-7 in the 50th over.
Nathan McDonnell did the majority of the damage for Leyland as he collected 3-30 from his 10 overs.
In response the Leyland innings got off to a disastrous start as Chris Parkinson, Karl Cross and Richardt Frenz were removed for a combined total of 5 runs with Travis Dean 4-35 and Adam Parker 2-37 combining well with the new ball.
It was left to Henry Thompson 56 and Nathan McDonnell 23 to rebuild as the Fox Lane outfit were placed firmly on the back foot in the face of some economical bowling by the Broadwater attack.
Further wickets fell as the Leyland response really took a turn for the worse but some stoic batting from Dale Vardy and Jacob Wright saw Leyland to safety as they moved to 117-8 at the close of play.
This result leaves Leyland 3 points to the good at the top of the league and Fleetwood 7 points behind Blackpool in 3rd place.
St Annes v Netherfield - Vernon Road
Netherfield left it late at Vernon Road as they claimed victory in the final throws of their game at St Annes.
Ben Barrow won the toss and asked the home side to bat on a typically hard wicket at Vernon Road.
Gurman Bains 4 fell early as Mark Clarkson 2-38 applied pressure in the opening overs.
Fortunately for the Fylde coast side Nathan Armstrong 52 combined with Luke Wilks 20 and latterly Shadley Van Schalkwyk 24 to give some impetus to the St Annes innings.
However, any momentum that was gained by the batsmen was soon halted as Van Schalkwyk and Richard Staines were ran out, exposing the lower order and they could do little to resist the Netherfield attack as Tom Bruce claimed his maiden Northern League five wicket haul with 5-30 from his 11.3 overs.
St Annes were eventually 156 all out in the 47th over.
The Parkside Road outfit began their response brightly as Ben Barrow 40 combined with a number of his top order to give Netherfield a good platform.
However when Barrow and Tom Bruce were both removed by Mitchell Bolus 2-35 the cool wind of change set in as the Fylde Coast outfit began to apply pressure and slow the scoring rate.
It was left to John Huck 35no and Dan Ingham 19no to guide the Cumbrian side to victory as they passed the winning post with 3.3 balls to spare at 158-5.

Division Two
Division 2 Round Up:
Blackpool v Barrow
Blackpool stole a march on their Cumbrian adversaries as they picked up a comprehensive victory over Barrow at Stanley Park.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl Blackpool didn't find immediate reward as the Barrow top order took advantage of anything loose from the youthful Stanley Park attack.
Although things soon changed as Chris Baines 5-13 and Matthew Siddall 3-14 hit their straps and began to make life tough for the opposition batsmen.
Despite some resistance from Robin Adams 24 Barrow were bundled out in the 35th over with 82 runs on the board.
The Blackpool response did not get off to the smoothest of starts as the Barrow opening bowlers reduced the Fylde Coast side to 13-2.
Fortunately skipper Sam Owen 25 was at his vigilant best as he combined with Tom Myerscough 31 to add 61 for the 3rd wicket before they both fell leaving the middle order to finish the job as Blackpool moved to 84-4 in the 21st over.
Blackpool now become outright leaders in Division Two on 157 points with Netherfield in 2nd position on 147 points.
Fleetwood v Leyland
Leyland put a further dent in Fleetwood's title hopes as they picked up the majority of the points at Broadwater.
After being asked to bat the Fox Lane outfit made a good start as each of the top order chipped in to an ever increasing score.
Opener Jake Peake made 44 with able assistance from number four James Rounding who made 38 as Leyland moved to 171-6 from their allocation.
Fleetwood were soon placed on the back foot as the experienced Leyland openers Steven Pallett 1-38 and James Rounding 3-30 removed the first three for little score.
James Wilson 57 and James Gregson 49 went about rebuilding the innings but they found it difficult to keep up with the required rate in the face of some accurate bowling from Leyland.
Eventually both were removed but the Fox Lane outfit could not capitalise upon these wickets as Fleetwood moved to 140-7 in the 45th over.
Leyland now sit in third position on 134 points.
Morecambe v Kendal
Morecambe claimed their fourth victory of the season as they successfully chased a target of 148 which was earlier set by Kendal at Woodhill Lane.
The Shap Road outfit won the toss and elected to bat and they were indebted to an innings of 57 from Darren Nightingale as he formed the backbone of the Kendal innings in an otherwise barren card.
In defence of their total the Kendal attack got off to a good start as Gulam Maje and Lloyd Smith were removed in the opening overs.
However Luke Pearson 49 and Izhar Ullah 31 got the innings moving in the right direction and Morecambe were soon on their way as the incoming middle order guided the Woodhill Lane outfit to a five wicket victory with 39 overs on the board.
Netherfield v St Annes
Netherfield were left lamenting the weather as their game against St Annes at Parkside Road was abandoned late into the first innings.
Netherfield had moved to a more than useful 167-7 in the 36th over with Craig Walmsley 67 and Graham Dodds 42 being the main protagonists before the rains arrived, curtailing the fixture and leaving both sides with 5 points.
Penrith v Darwen
The only other fixture of the day was abandoned as the inclement weather prevented any play at Tynefield Park in the match between Penrith and Darwen.
Preston v Lancaster
At West Cliff, Preston claimed victory as they made relatively short work of Lancaster in a low scoring game.
The Lune Valley side were bowled out for 101 as Heszer Mahmood picked up 4-20 from eight overs.
The only Lancaster batsman to make a significant contribution was Harris Pervaiz who made 41 batting at number 7 to give the Lune Road outfits innings an air of respectability.
In response the West Cliff side didn't find life easy as the Lancaster bowlers picked up regular wickets, fortunately, opener Babasish Nanda 50 was on hand to guide them to victory as he made a half century to see Preston home with four wickets to spare.
