DIVISION ONE:
Barrow v Penrith - Ernest Pass Memorial Ground
At Ernest Pass Barrow took the lion's share of the points as they restricted Penrith to 198-6 in defence of a score of 220 which was earlier set by the Furness Peninsula side.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat, Barrow made a sketchy start as the prolific Pawar and captain Mowat were removed by the ever accurate Paul Hindmarch 4-37.
Sam Dutton 77 and Dean Williams 29 began the salvage operation and they made good progress before the latter wat run out, this brought Michael Wellings 64no to the crease and he also made good progress before Dutton was bowled by Hay 2-85.
This brought a small collapse as the Barrow, middle and lower order looked to up the rate leaving Wellings to marshal the home side to 220 all out in the 49th over.
In response the Penrith top order made more than useful start as Chris Marrow 27 and Greg Hall 65 scored runs freely, as Marrow departed Michael Hay entered the fray and he also scored runs with alacrity as he made 61 before being bowled by Greg Reynolds 2-36.
In a similar vein to the first innings this sparked something of a collapse as Javed Khan 2-62 combined with Reynolds to place Penrith on the back foot but they could make little more headway as two Penrith stalwarts, Nicky Burns and Kriss McLean steadied the ship leaving the side from the Eden Valley 6 down in the 51st over with 198 on the board.
Darwen v Kendal - Birch Hall
Kendal's movement up the table continued as they made short work of Darwen at Birch Hall.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl the Kendal opening bowlers soon made progress as Darwen were reduced to 18-3 thanks to some precise bowling from Toby Tyson 5-28 and Syed Ali 3-30.
Mark Friend 12 and Shrikant Wagh 14 tried to steady the ship but they could make no great headway as Chris Miller bowled an incredibly miserly spell picking up 2-13 from his 17 overs which included 11 maidens.
Wickets continued to fall and Tyson picked up his maiden first division five wicket hall as he bowled John Painter, the East Lancashire side were finally put out of their misery in the 49th over having posted a score of 82.
In defence of such a total the Darwen bowling attack had to take early wickets and they were soon rewarded as David Bowden removed both Kendal openers to leave the Shap Road side 18-2.
However, some lusty blows from Lesiba Ngoepe 48 got Kendal on the right track and as he fell to Bowden 4-50 with the scoreboard showing 72-4 they were within sight of the winning post, this was duly passed in the 25th over as Kendal finished 86-4 to collect 15 points.
Lancaster v Fleetwood - Lune Road
At Lune Road, Fleetwood managed to steer clear of the weather to pick up a victory in a rain affected match against Lancaster.
After winning the toss and electing to bat Lancaster were soon placed on the back foot as Travis Dean 5-24 and James Amor 1-17 removed the openers before the former went on to remove Lancaster professional Abhimanyu Khod and Kieran Moffat.
Charlie Swarbrick 22 and Rajat Agarwal 37 managed to steady the ship but wickets continued to fall and Lancaster were indebted to a cameo from Lee Marshall who hit 39 to take the Lune Valley side to 139 all out in the 49th over.
The Fleetwood reply began well as Travis Dean 23 and Adam Parker 46 took advantage of anything loose from the Lancaster attack.
Both were eventually removed by Charlie Swarbrick 2-28 and this caused something of a collapse as Callum East 2-16 removed both Wayne Clarke and Patrick Ashton before they had chance to trouble the scorers.
It was left to Tom Wilson 10no and Dean Bell 25 to see Fleetwood home as they passed the revised target in the 21st over, ending 112-4 and thus collecting 15 points which keeps them in the hunt at the top of Division One.
Leyland v Blackpool - Fox Lane
In the blue riband fixture of the day, Leyland furthered their ambitions at the top of Division One as they picked up a winning draw against Blackpool at Fox Lane.
David Makinson won the toss and elected to bat, the decision was not immediately vindicated as Andy Furniss 3-39 removed both members of the most prolific opening partnership in the league as he bowled Chris Parkinson and had Karl Cross LBW.
Then followed a period of rebuilding for the Fox Lane outfit as Richardt Frenz 26 and Henry Thompson 63 began to get the scoreboard moving, the latter was ably assisted by Nathan McDonnell 29 as they looked to post a commanding total.
Leyland did not have it all their own way as the Blackpool spin twins Joshua Boyne (2-45) and Daniel Pile 3-43 managed to restrict the scoring rate to leave Leyland 171-8 at the 50 over mark.
Blackpool started watchfully as the opening pair of Matthew Houston 32 and Ciaran Johnson 21 attempted to build a platform for the middle order.
When Leyland managed to make the breakthrough they were immediately rewarded again as Henry Thompson 3-29 managed to remove Daryl Mitchell for nought, furthermore he removed the dangerous Twist as the Blackpool response began to falter.
It was left to Andy Furniss 26 to guide Blackpool to safety as they left the field at 129-7 with 50 overs bowled.
This leaves Leyland 129 15 points clear at the top of the Northern League table, with Blackpool now sitting in fourth positon on 114 points.
Morecambe v Chorley - Woodhill Lane
Morecambe found themselves on the wrong side of the rain as their response to a sizeable total of 222-8 set by Chorley was hindered by the inclement weather conditions experienced at Woodhill Lane.
After winning the toss and electing to bat the visitors got off to a good start as Stuart Naden 16 and Andrew Holdsworth 39 got the scoreboard moving, before the latter was removed by Saeed Anwar 4-73.
Ed Moulton 21 made a further contribution before Will Moulton increased the scoring rate significantly as he hit a pacey 85 from just 58 balls in an innings which included 12 fours and 3 sixes.
This moved Chorley to a considerable total of 222-8 from their allocation, coincidentally this is the eigth total of over 200 runs which has been made at Woodhill Lane this season in seven Division One matches.
In response Morecambe were soon placed on the back foot as Josh Dixon was removed by Keiran McCullagh for one, the outlook deteriorated further as Anwar 17 was removed by James Lee, this left Gareth Pedder 27no and Ryan Pearson 2no at the crease when the rains arrived.
Morecambe's innings finally came to a close with the Woodhill Lane side on 53-2 at the 20 over mark.
St Annes v Preston - Vernon Road
Preston came within a whisker of claiming their second victory in as many weeks as they claimed the majority of the points on offer at Vernon Road.
On winning the toss Sajid Patel elected to bat and he ensured that Preston got off to a good start as he and Lukman Vahaluwala 14 got the scoreboard moving.
The St Annes change bowlers stemmed the flow of runs as Mitchell Bolus 4-50 and De Wet Swart 3-18 removed the top order.
However, a timely knock of 43 not out from Miya Lunat ensured that Preston made good on their start as he guided the Ribble Valley outfit to 184-8 at the 50 over mark.
In response St Annes got off to a reasonable start as both openers applied themselves but a change in the bowling brought cause for concern as Mohmedrafik Patel 2-38 claimed the wickets of Gurman Bains 13 and Matt Grindley 6.
Shadley Van Schalkwyk added some stability as he made 39 in good time but he was then caught and bowled by the unrelenting Vahaluwala.
This resulted in a shutter of wickets as Vahaluwala 5-34 tore through the St Annes middle order leaving opener Luke Wilks 41no helpless at the non-striker's end.
It was left to Luke and Paul Wilks to steer St Annes to safety as they valiantly fought off the efforts of the Preston attack leaving the Vernon Road side 150-9 in the 50th over.

Division Two
Division 2 Round Up:
Blackpool v Leyland
It was a day to remember for Sam Owens youthful Blackpool side as they took full advantage of Netherfield's free weekend by beating fellow high flyers Leyland at Stanley Park to move level on points with the Parkside Road outfit at the top of Division Two.
After winning the toss, Leyland were asked to bat on a typically flat wicket, they made good going as the Blackpool fielders squandered early chances in the glorious June sunshine.
Tom Reece 50 batted admirably to claim his fourth half century of the season. The first wicket partnership of 85 between Reece and Hamza Khan 39 was broken as Reece was smartly stumped by Ben Heath off the bowling of Matthew Siddall 4-41.
This sparked something of a collapse as the Fox Lane outfit slumped from 85-0 to 111-7 as Siddall and Jake Muncaster 3-29 bowled with aplomb to make life exceedingly difficult for the incoming Leyland batsmen.
Steven Pallett 34 and Elliot Boardman managed to retain a semblance of composure as they added 44 before Chris Baines 3-24 returned to the attack to claim the final three wickets leaving Leyland 164 all out in the 42nd over.
In defence of their total Leyland got off to a fantastic start as they had Blackpool reeling at 22-3 with the prolific Sam Owen back in the hutch.
It was left to Dan Barling 57no and Craig Brown 36 to rebuild and they did so with great care as they added 54 for the 4th wicket.
After the latter was removed by Ellis Robinson 2-43 a mini collapse ensued as Blackpool were placed in peril at 97-6, fortunately for the Fylde Coast side Nathan Dixon 38no showed maturity beyond his years as he and Barling combined to add an unbeaten 70 for the seventh wicket to take Blackpool past the winning post in the 46th over.
Chorley v Morecambe
Chorley's aspirations at the top of Division Two were somewhat tarnished as they were confounded by a Morecambe side that bowled excellently to defend a meagre total of 136 at Windsor Park.
Batting first Morecambe found life difficult by Andy Bird 30 batted attentively to ensure that the top order got the Woodhill Lane outfit to a good start.
He was aided by contributions from a number of lower and middle order batsmen as Chris Harty was the pick of the bowlers for Chorley as he collected 3-26.
The Morecambe attack picked up from where their counterparts had left off and they were soon making life difficult for Chorley as Uzair Shah 4-13 and the remainder of the attack bowled with great accuracy to prevent the Chorley batsmen from scoring.
Alex Howarth 34 managed to make some headway but as he was removed by Shah, Morecambe began to pick up momentum and they managed to collect 8 Chorley wickets to leave the Windsor Park outfit 109-8 in the 45th over.
Fleetwood v Lancaster
Fleetwood made short work of their opposition from Lune Road as they won by 41 runs at Broadwater.
After winning the toss and electing to bat Fleetwood were soon in a spot of bother as both openers were removed cheaply.
Fortunately Andy Singleton 54 and James Wilson 34 were on hand to form a meaningful partnership for the Fylde Coast side but as both were removed by an as yet unnamed Lancaster bowler 2-36 a collapse resulted and the Fleetwood middle order were left in disarray as Amit Chopra returned to collect 4-25, leaving the Broadwater outfit 131 all out in the 43rd over.
Lancasters reply suffered a similar fate as both openers were removed before they had chance to get going, it was left to numbers 3 and 4 39 to repair the damage but it was not to be for the Lune Road side as Jack Wilkinson 5-10 scythed through the middle order to leave Lancaster 90 all out in the 37th over.
Penrith v Barrow
At Tynefield Park, Penrith came out on top in the Cumbrian derby match against Barrow.
Sam Henderson won the toss and elected to bat and Barrow made steady progress as many of their top and middle order batsmen chipped in with scores in the twenties.
Unfortunately none could go on to make a telling total as Henry Marshall 4-51 and former Netherfield & Kendal bowler Richard Ellwood 4-31 combined to make life tough for the Ernest Pass batsmen as they posted 164 all out in the 40th over.
In response the Eden Valley side also made steady progress as Henry Marshall 41 combined with a number of the top order before he was removed with the score at 116-5 and it was left to Richard Ellwood 13no and Owen Jones 12no to see Penrith home in the 37th over.
Preston v St Annes
St Annes picked up a victory as they comfortably beat Preston at West Cliff.
Batting first the Vernon Road outfit were indebted to Geeth Malinda Kamburugamuwe 50 who made his fourth half century of the season at the top of the order.
There was then something of a collapse before Neil Bradley 44 and David Watson 40no batted ardently to allow St Annes to post a solid 184-8 from their allocation.
Abdullah Kadva was the pick of the bowlers for the West Cliff side as he collected 3-24 from his eight overs.
The Preston openers made a relatively sound start as they batted watchfully to form a platform for the Ribble Valley side but this was not built upon by the middle and lower order as the St Annes attack picked up regular wickets.
With Jake Higson picking up 3-30 as Preston were reduced to 135 all out in the 44th over.
Kendal v Darwen
The match was abandoned without a ball being bowled
