The top two lose and the race for the Division One Crown is blown wide open in a dramatic afternoon of action in the Northern Cricket League
DIVISION ONE:
Barrow v St Annes
Barrow had to be content with a winning draw at Ernest Pass in their home game with struggling St Annes.
The hosts batting first closed on 178-9, they made a good recovery after struggling on 57-5. Sam Dutton top scored with 47 off 84 balls and Daryl Wearing chipped in with 35 runs. Mitchell Bolus, Xander Pitchers each took a brace of wickets for the visitors, with Matthew Grindley and Jake Woods chipping in with a wicket each.
In reply St Annes closed on 169-8, Chris Holt batting through the innings for a top score of 81 off 130 balls supported by Xander Pitchers with 45 off 78 balls.
Barrow's Sri Lankan professional Tharanga Paranavitana had figures of 4-46, with Gary Collins 3-51
Darwen v Preston
Darwen moved closer in to the top two following a six wicket win over bottom side Preston.
Preston were all out for 106 in 37.4 overs, Niall Burke, David Bowden and new professional Khaya Zondo all taking 3 wickets.
The Preston professional Sajid Patel the top scorer with 65.
Jordan Clarke's team raced to victory making 112-4 in only 19.5 overs, Mark Friend was unbeaten on 42 and Khaya Zondo made 39.
Afzal Kapadia had the best bowling figures of 2-27 for the visitors
Fleetwood v Morecambe
Fleetwood's charge for the league title continues to gather pace as they defeated League leaders Morecambe by 34 runs.
The hosts, who saw off Blackpool last weekend closed on 137-6 off 50 overs, Australian professional David King posting a top score of 64 off 124 balls. Eddie Read had figures of 3-60 with Morecambe's Sri Lankan professional returning figures of 2-39 off 23 overs. Jamie Cassidy also taking a wicket with figures of 1-21.
The visitors reply was blown apart with Fleetwood's professional David King bowling Phillip Dennison and Suraj Randiv in an opening spell of 2-6.
Mike Clinning was brought into the action and took two wickets in two balls turning the game in Fleetwoods favour. He continued to remove the remaing batsmen and finishes with the fine figures of 5-19 in 5.3 overs.
Lewis Edge was the only one to worry the Fleetwood side with 30 off 49 balls. David King and Adam Parker took 2 wickets each, with Ian Holland taking 1 as Morecambe were all out for 103 in 41.3 overs.
Kendal v Penrith
Kendal's Saeed Bariwala put in an all round performance as his 7-34 and top scoring knock of 74 off 86 balls saw Kendal defeat Penrith by 4 wickets.
Penrith were put in by the hosts and bowled out for 151 in 47.4 overs. Bariwala ripping through the visitors with his seven wickets.
Michael Slack top scored with 35 off 86 balls with contributions from Alex Atkinson and Will Tyson both making 27.
In reply Kendal recovered from 33-4, as Saeed Bariwalas scored 74 off 88 balls and with Shane Hyland's 27 off 88 balls put Kendal in command.
Darren Nightingale was unbeaten on 12 and Richard Herron 6 seeing Kendal home in 45.4 overs as they closed on 154-7
Lancaster v Netherfield
Netherfield edged out Lancaster by 2 wickets at Lune Road. Lancaster batting first were all out for 175.
Lancaster were in trouble but a fine 64 from no8 Lee Sparks who made 64 saw Lancaster to a respectable total. Dieter Klein had the best bowling figures of 3-65 for the visitors.
Netherfield got off to a flying start in their reply, with Richard Potter opening with a top score of 60, however there were nerves a plenty as the Lancaster bowlers got through the Netherfield batting, before Scott Clement led the recovery with 28 runs, as he and Mark Clarkson put Netherfield on the verge of a win.
However once Scott Clement was bowled the game went down to the last ball, Netherfield needing one run off one ball, Nathan Chambers sealing it with a boundary as Netherfield closed on 176-8.
Lancaster's professional Rameez Raja returning figures of 4-64 supported by Ben Simm 3-32.
Leyland v Blackpool
Leyland made it two straight defeats for Blackpool as they saw off the League Champions by 6 wickets. Blackpool closing on 163-8, Matthew Houston with 58 off 90 balls, Christi Viljeon 43 off 79 balls and Andy Furniss 37 off 42 balls were the Blackpool run makers.
Nathan McDonnell had figures of 3-30 with captain David Makinson bowling 20 overs and taking 2-56
Leyalnd' s overseas player Richard Frenz was the hero with an unbeaten 90 off 143 balls as the South African saw the hosts home to victory with Andrew Makinson 40no off 75 balls. Saw Leyland home on 167-4.

Netherfield remain on top as Leyland close in.
Blackpool v Leyland
Leyland defeated Blackpool by 7 wickets at Stanley Park, Blackpool were all out for 64 in 32.4 overs, Steven Pallett taking 4-24.
The visitors took only 23.2 overs, to reach 65-3 thanks to Dale Vardy with 24 off 36 balls and James Rounding finishing things off with an unbeaten 23
Morecambe v Fleetwood
Morecambe saw of the Fleetwood challenge by 6 wickets at Woodhill Lane.
Fleetwood were restricted to 14-8 off 45 overs Andy Singleton top scoring with 43 and Uzair Shah with f 3-25 returning the best bowling figures for the home team
Morecambe knocked the runs off in 44 overs, closing on 141-4 thanks to Matthew Derham with 48.
Netherfield v Lancaster
Netherfield remain on top following a seven wicket win over Lancaster.
Lancaster were all out for 129 in 41 overs, Elliot Mason making 29. Joe Portman 4-36. And Dylan Hoyle 3-25. Doing the damage for Netherfield
The hosts were home in 25 overs, finishing on 135-3, Brendan Herron top scoring with an unbeaten 58 and Liam Dugdale also contributing with 38.
Penrith v Kendal
Kendal won at Penrith by 26 runs, Kendal closing on 172-9 in their 45 overs . Oliver Tyson with 80, and Penrith's Phillip Wharton had figures of 3-22.
Penrith were all out in reply for 146 in 40.2. For Kendal Sam Dyson had 3-12, and Toby Tyson 3-36.
Preston v Darwen
Preston surprised Darwen and won by 60 runs at West Cliff.
Preston closing their inning on 157-7 off 45 overs, Mohammed Illyas top scoring knock of 65.and Sam Painter returning figures of 5-24 for Darwen
Darwen were all out for 97 in 42.2 overs, Gary Jackson 30 and Mark Bennett 20 the main run makers for the visitors. For Preston Mohammad Illyas and Hamza Ahmed took 2 wickets
St Annes v Barrow
St Annes saw off Barrow by 61 runs at Vernon Road.
St Annes batting first were 193-8 after their 45 overs thanks to Luke Wilks with 94 and Jake Higson unbeaten on 36 saw St Annes to a respectable total.
Sam Henderson had figures of 3-57 for the visitors
Barrow were all out for 132 in 43.3 overs, Peter Deeks with 62 the only Barrow batsman to threaten a St Annes victory. Jake Higson with figures of 6-9 in 7 overs destroyed the Barrow innings
