Blackpool win again

It was another entertaining round of Northern Cricket League action all the games with 15 Point wins for the top Four

DIVISION ONE:

Blackpool v Kendal

Blackpool won the toss and elected to bat. After an opening stand of 34 Matthew Houston and Christi Viljeon had a partnership of 89 to put Blackpool in a strong position.

Viljeon was out for 52 and Matthew Houston 79 as Blackpool declared on 210 - 8 after 48 overs. Chris Miller took 4-68 and Stu Parkin 3-78 for Kendal.

In reply Kendal were bowled out for 49 in 26.2 overs, there were only three batsmen reaching double figures, Darren Nightingale top scoring with 19. Richard Gleeson did the Hat-Trick and finished with 3-35.

Christi Viljeon, Steven Mercer and Jake Muncaster each took two wickets

Darwen v Fleetwood

Darwen batted first at Birch Hall and were all out for 167 in 49 overs. Daniel Salpietro top scored with 64 ably supported by Scott Jackson 26 and Neil Cordingley 22. David King took 5-68 with Adam Parker and Josh Heaney taking two wickets

Fleetwood were bowled out for 87 in 41.4 overs, Adam Parket 25, Ian Holland 21 and James Wilson 16 the only batsmen to reach double figures

David Bowden 4-10 in 10 overs and Daniel Salpietro 4-31 in 11.4 did the damage

Morecambe v Barrow

Morecambe won the toss and decided to bat first, They reached 139 - 8 in their 50 overs, professional Suraj Randiv leading the way with 86 supported by 20 not out from Tommy Clough, Gary Collins took 3-37 for the visitors

Barrow had a disastrous start being 7-2 and did not recover form that postition being all out for 92 in 38.3 overs. Edward Read took the first four Barrow batsmen and finished with 4-31, Suraj Randiv 3-19 and Tommy Clough 2-12 did the rest

Netherfield v Chorley

Netherfield won the toss and asked Chorley to bat, They were all out for 128 in 39.5 overs. Will Moulton top scored with 43 with contributions of 21 from David Fisher, 15 from captain Andrew Holdworth and 13 from Ian Oakes

Mark Clarkson was the Chorley destroyer with 6-33, John Mason had 2-19 and there was a wicket each for Dieter Klein and Ryan Willson

Netherfield were bowled out for 92 in 41.4, overs only John Mason 28 and Bradley Earl 23 showing any resistance to the bowling of James Lee 5-20 (including the first three batsmen) and Brenton McDonald 4-33

Penrith v St Annes

Penrith won the toss and put St Annes in to bat, They were all out for 162 in 50 overs. Adam Holt top scored with 48 with contributions from Nathan Bolus 23 and Lukman Vahaluwala 22

Michael Slack 6-69 and Jake Fawcett 4-52 bowled St Annnes out

In Reply Penrith knocked off the runs after 36.5 overs finishing on 163 - 5. Ryan Carruthers top scored with 43 backed by Greg Hall 33 not out, Alex Atkinson 29 and Jake Fawcett 26 . Mitchell Bolus 3-46 was St Annes's best bowler

Preston v Lancaster

Preston won the toss and asked Lancaster to bat. Lancaster declared after 45.1 overs on 261 - 6. Their main run makers being Charlie Swarbrick 86, Usman Tariq 80 and Jamie Heywood 48. Rashid Amin and Sajid Patel each took two wickets

When Preston batted they were all out for 156 in 42.5 overs, Rashid Amin 71 and Sajid Patel 33 top scored. Ben Simm 4-39 and Liam Moffat 4-76 saw Lancaster to victory

St Annes increase their lead at the top

Barrow v Morecambe

Barrow were asked to bat and were all out for 199 in 44.2 overs, Rhys Studt 38 and Peter Deeks 34 their top scorers. Lewis Smith and Gert Maartens each took 3 wickets for Morecambe

In reply Morecambe were 107 - 7 at the close of their innings Gulam Mage 33 their top scorer

Chorley v Netherfield

Chorley won the toss and put Natherfield in to bat, they were 184 - 5 after their 45 overs with Tommy Prime 60no supported by Scott Clement 37no and Matthew Goodall 31. Lewis Saunders and Chris Harty each took two wickets for Chorley

When Chorley batted they were 145-6 at the close of play, Captain Alexander Howarth 35 and Andy Flear 31no and Michael Critchley 30no were their run makers

Fleetwood v Darwen

Match Rearranged to be played on Sunday 14th June

Kendal v Blackpool

Kendal won the toss and decided to bat. Opener Steve Watson 24 and No 10 Sam Dyson 40 with Ryan Nightingale 11 were the main contributors to their total of 88 in 42 overs

The wickets were shared out amongst the Blackpool bowlers with Chris Baines and Sam Owen taking 3 apiece

In reply Ciaran Johnson 34no and Daniel Dixon 14no saw Blackpool home after being put in a good postion with 29 from Tom Jefferson

Lancaster v Preston

Lanaster put Preston in to bat at Lune Road and bowled them out for 49 in 28.1 overs. Moshin Patel top scored with 26 and Elliot Mason destroyed Preston with 6-13

In reply Lancasrer took 22 overs to reach 55 - 2 Sam Reddick 37 no

St Annes v Penrith

Penrith won the toss and invited St Annes to bat. After their alloted 45 overs they were 226 - 6 thanks to David Bartholomew 53no, Geeth Malinda Kamburugamuwe 51 and Luke Wilks 51 ably supported by Ricky Parmar 29 and 23 from Henry Higson. James O'Brien took 3-57 for Penrith

Penrith were not daunted and went after the runs. Mark Osborne and Richard Errington both with 35 Eddie Robson 21 and a late 26 from Nick Hodgson lead the charge but were bowled out for 169 in the 37 over due to the bowling of David Bartholomew 4-44 and Kevin Reid 4-45
