The Northern Premier Cricket League season drew to a close as Blackpool defeated newly crowned Champions Morecambe. Daryl Wearing also achieved his 500th wicket in The Northern Cricket League as Barrow defeated Lancaster.
DIVISION ONE:
Barrow v Lancaster
Daryl Wearing claimed his 500th wicket in The Northern League as his figures of 5-15 helped Barrow to a crushing display as they sauntered past Lancaster by 10 wickets at Ernest Pass.
Lancaster were blown away for 57 in 20.5 overs, Toby Mowat also contributing with figures of 4-33.
Barrow won for the second consecutive game by 10 wicket sand eased home in 12.2 overs closing on 58-0. Tharanga Paranavitana with 38 and Dean Williams with 16.
Chorley v Fleetwood
Fleetwood won the toss and decided to bat and lost early wickets and at 47-5 were in dire straits but a partnership of 52 between Dean Bell and Michael Clinning gave Fleetwood hope.
Bell was out for 24 and Clinning quickley followed making 32. Fleetwood were bowled out for 109 in 37.2 overs
Edwin Moulton took 5-24 and Will Moulton 3-23.
In reply the Chorley innings followed that of Fleetwood and they were 55-7, 23 of which were scored by Jack Bentham when a patnership of 37 between by Joseph Tiffin and Edwin Moulton gave Chorley a chance of victory but when Tiffin was out for 32 the innings quickly ended as Chorley were bowled out for 93 in 26.1 overs
David King the Fleetwood professional has been outstanding with the bat this season but today he destroyed the Chorley innings taking 8-54 in 13.1 overs
Morecambe v Blackpool
Blackpool spoiled the Morecambe party after winning by 42 runs at Woodhill Lane. Morecambe who won the League last week lifted the League title before the game got under way. However Blackpool last year's champions finished on a high.
Blackpool were all out for 183 in 37.4 overs, Michael Penney top scoring with 45 and Stephen Twist with 44.
Eddie Read returned figures of 4-61 with Tommy Clough 3-46.
Morecambe werte bowled out for 141 in 29.5 Overs, Lewis Edge top scored with 34 andChristi Viljoen finished his time at Blackpool on a high with figures of 5-50.
Netherfield v Preston
Netherfield eased past Preston by 8 wickets in a rain reduced game.
Preston were all out for 96 in 35.1 overs, Liam Dugdale with figures of 4-26 and Ryan Wilson 3-13 doing the damage.
The hosts eased home in only 11.2 overs closing on 98-2. Rick Potter made 52 off 28 balls and Dan Gaunt was unbeaten on 22 off 37 balls.
Penrith v Darwen
Penrith won with a 20 run victory over Darwen in a rain reduced game.
Penrith posted 178-9 off 35 overs thanks to Nicky Burns 37 off 52 balls and Kris Mclean 37 off 48 balls.
Niall Burke wwas Darwen's best bowler with 4-30.
Darwen were all out for 158 in 35.2 overs with . Ammer Mirza and Mark Friend with 32 runs apiece top scoring for Darwen.
Alex Atkinson with figures of 4-15, Kris Mclean 3-36 and Paul Hindmarch 3-62 bowled Penrith to victory.
St Annes v Leyland
Leyland closed the season with a 32 run win at St Annes, in a game which was the last ever for St Annes skipper Andy Kellett.
Leyland posted 259-6, Luis Reece 33 and Lloyd Tennant 32 saw them off to a good start, Henry Thompson with 56 off 57 balls gave the innings further momentum then Andrew Makinson took over with 63 in 49 balls including 6 sixes.
St Annes lost Matthew Grindley with a dislocated finger when attamptoing a catch.
In reply St Annes were all out for 227 in 47.3 overs. Geeth Malinda Kamburugamuwe with 54 in 32 balls gave the home side a dream start and when he was out Adam Holt 50 and Xander Pitchers lead the chase, When Holt was out Pitches could not find a partner to stay with him. He was last out for 69 off 88 balls.
Leyland captain David Makinson took 5-45 and Luis Reece 3-91 off 20 overs.

Blackpool v Morecambe
Blackpool won the toss and elected to bat, Adrian Darlington in his last match for Blackpool scored 74 and contributions of 32 not out by Tom Myerscough, 25 from Joel Warson and 21 from Jake Muncaster saw Blackpool to 178-6 in their 45 overs.
Irfan Qayyum took 3-44 and Adam Derham 2-33.
In reply Morecambe were 163-7 at the close thanks to Adama Derham 62 not out and 43 from Joe Singleton.
Darwen v Penrith
Darwen end the season with a 5 wicket win over Penrith,
Penrith were restricted to 104-8 off a rain reduced 23.2 overs, Joe Stamper 26 and Ted Stamper 20 the main run contributors and Greg Lawrenson taking 4-11 with William Atkinson 3-36 Darwen's best bowlers.
The hosts chasing down the target in 24.5 overs, closing on 108-5 thanks to Zac Whalley with 41.
Fleetwood v Chorley
Chorley edged Fleetwood by 2 runs in a close game,
Chorley scored 185-8 off 45 overs with Ian Oakes their highest scorer with 45.
Jack Wilkinson with 3-28 was Fleetwood's best bowler.
Fleetwood were all out in 44.5 Overs for 183, James Gregson 38 gave Fleetwood hope but run outs and Joe Barker 4-47 saw chorley home.
Lamcaster v Barrow
Barrow defeated a depleted Lancaster by 10 wickets at Lune Road,
Lancaster were all out for 61 Sam Henderson with 6-3 being the Barrow destroyer.
Barrow were home in just 8.1 overs scoring 62-0 with Adam Hunter unbeaten on 27 and Sam Fell with 26.
Leyland v St Annes
Leyland Cricket Club retained the Division Two title after defeating St Annes by 8 wickets. Ian Farrington's team overtaking a Netherfield outfit that had led the way for most of the season.
Ian Farrington's chargers restricted St Annes to 156-7. Former Leyland player Nick MacKenzie 45 not out and Kevin Reid 30 and 29 extras gave St Annes a total to bowl at.
Steven Pallett with figures of 3-20 from 12 overs was the pick of the Leyland bowlers.
Leyland sealed their triumph knocking the runs off in 28 overs closing on 157-2. Dale Vardy guiding the team to victory with a top scoring unbeaten knock of 62.
Preston v Netherfield
Netherfield just missed out on the Division Two title despite defeating Preston by 100 runs.
Netherfield closed on 159-9 off a rain reduced 35.2 overs. Joe Portman the main run getter with 32 and Ammer Abbas Kahn taking 4-36 for Preston.
Preston were all out in theirreply for 59 in 31.1 overs, Marc Hadwin returning figures of 7-16.
