Morecambe beat Darwen at the top of Division 1 and Leyland and Netherfield draw at the top of Division 2
DIVISION ONE:
Blackpool v Preston
Namibian professional Christi Viljoen smashed the League batting record as he posted a stunning 227 off just 156 balls in Blackpool's winning draw with Preston at Stanley Park.
Viljoens stunning effort included 24 fours and 11 sixes he reached his first 100 off just 98 balls and raced to his double hundred in just 49 balls.
Blackpool though despite the stand out performance will be disappointed to only get a winning draw against struggling Preston.
Preston won the toss and asked Blackpool to bat. They lost two early wickets and at 7-2 Christi Viljoen joined Tom Jefferson and they took the total to 54 when Jefferson was out for 19.
Ben Howarth was next in and he and Christi had a partnership of 180 when Howarth was out for 55 with the total at 234. it was his first half century for the Club. Viljoen then dominated the innings with partnerships with Andy Furniss of 19 and 85 with Michael Penney.
Viljoen was out with the total on 338 for his magnificent 227. Michael Penney 21not out and Richard Gleeson 10 not out saw the innings out as Blackpool closed on 349 - 6.
Preston to their credit dug in despite the massive run chase as they battled to a respectable 186-3. Rehman Shah was unbeaten with 69 off 104 balls supported by Gurman Bains scoring 61 off 116 balls.
Blackpool's title challenge seems to be fading away as they used eight bowlers to try to make the break through. Christi Viljoen, Steven Mercer and Paul Danson each took a wicket.
Chorley v Kendal
Chorley and Kendal tied in a dramatic contest at Windsor Park. Chorley will be disappointed not to win especially after restricting Kendal to 112-9 in 45.3 Overs.
Having won the toss Kendal decided to bat and struggled with Richard Herron 21 Eldred Hawken 20 before 25 Form Lewis Richardson and 15 from captain Chris Miller saw Kendal passed the 100 and they were 112 -9 at the close of their innings.
Keiran McCullagh took 3-26 off 18 overs with Will Moulto 3-10, Edwin Moulton 2-37 and James Lee taking the other wicket.
In the hosts reply Joseph Tiffin was the main run scorer with 41 with Andrew Holdsworth 26 as they were bowled out for 112 making the result a tie.
Chris Miller bowled unchanged and had the figures of 7-56 off 17.4 overs with Saeed Bariwala taking a wicket with Eldred Hawken taking a brace.
Both sides taking 8 points apiece.
Morecambe v Darwen
Morecambe take a step closer to winning The Northern Premier Cricket League Division One Title following a 37 run victory over second placed Darwen at Woodhill Lane.
The League Leaders were 143-9 off a rain reduced 45 overs, thanks to Suraj Randiv with 31, Ryan Pearson with 24 and 20 form no 9 Gert Maartens.
David Bowden bowled 22 overs and had figures of 5-48.
Darwen made a promising start with John Cordingley 36, Phil Mustard 20 then Eddie Read and Suraj Randiv took over and only captain Jordan Clarke with 24 offfered any resistance as Darwensre were bowled out for 106 in 42.4 Overs. Suraj Randiv taking 5-25 off 18.4 overs and Eddie Read 4-55.
Netherfield v Leyland
Richardt Frenz passed 1000 runs for the season as Leyland defeated Netherfield by 97 runs at Parkside Road. Luis Reece the highlight as he returns figures of 7-42 as Netherfield are all out for 104 in 33.3 Overs.
Leyland put in by the hosts were bowled out for 201 in 49.2 Overs, Richard Frenz top scoring with 66 off 82 balls supported by Henry Thompson with 51 off 86 balls and 30 from Karl Cross
Each of the Netherfield bowlers Ryan Wilson, Nathan Chambers, Mark Clarkson, Liam Dugdale and Dieter Klein took two wickets.
Netherfield made a steady start and had reached 31 before the first wicket fell. After that it was the Luis Reece show as he destroyed the Netherfield innings with figures of 7-42 off 17 overs. Captain David Makinson took the last wicket and had figures of 2-19.
Penrith v Fleetwood
Fleetwood came away from Penrith with a winning draw in a rain reduced game.
David King was in the runs again as he top scored with an unbeaten 109 off 133 balls (x 6 fours, x 6 sixes) and he and Adam Parker 50 off 56 balls were in an opening partnership of 113 as Fleetwood closed on 203-5.
Penrith were 59-4 and dug deep as Greg Hall unbeaten on 35 with Jonathan Osborne 16 and Paul Hindmarch 14 with Richard Sykes 5 not out saw Penrith to 136-6 at the close.
After his century David King then bowled 20 overs and took 5-55 with Adam Parker taking the other wicket.
St Annes v Lancaster
Lancaster picked up a crucial 85 run win at struggling St Annes.
Rameez Raja making 100 off 113 balls, with Ben Simm posting an unbeaten 59 off 68 balls as Lancaster close on 240-7 off 50 overs.
Matthew Grindley had figures of 4-61 off 16 and Matthew Taafee 2-40.
St Annes lost early wickets and Xander Pitches and Matthew Taaffe were making steady progress when a mix up saw Matthew Taafee run out for 17. Pitches soon followed for 39 and only Mitchell Bolus with 44 off 28 balls and Matthew Grindley unbeaten on 17 showed any resistance as St Annes were bowled out for 155 in 39.2 overs.
Rameez Raja took 4-72, with Ben Simm and Iain Burstow taking 2 wickets apiece, Matthew Liver closing with figures of 1-34.

Top two draw and St Annes win and close the gap
Darwen v Morecambe
Morecambe won by 5 wickets at Darwen. The hosts were restricted to 130-8 off 45 overs with Nathan Jackson making 70 and Irfan Qayyam and George Marshall taking 3 wickets each.
All round contributions in Morecambes reply saw the visitors home in 38.2 overs as they closed on 134-5. Joe Singleton with 32, Gulam Maje 29 and Steven Fisher with 27 were Morecambe's main run makers.
Mark Emery had figures of 3-45 with Zac Whalley 1-8 and Nathan Jackson 1-40 taking the other wickets.
Fleetwood v Penrith
Fleetwood defeated Penrith by 7 wickets, Fleetwood won the toss and asked Penrith to bat and they were all out for 117 in 4.2 overs, Ted Stamper was their top scorer with 45 with Samuel Hall 20 and 15 from Neil Atkinson.
Joe Bell had figures of 4-14 with Jonathan Amor 2-11 and Alex Ryder 2-26.
After the loss of early wickets James Gregson unbeaten 59 with the unbeaten support of 22 by Joe Bell eased Fleetwood home to 118-3 in just 20 overs.
Kendal v Chorley
Chorley eased past Kendal by 7 wickets, Kendal were all out for 70 in 38.1 overs with only Oliver Tyson 36 showing any resistance. Chris Harty with 4-17 and Ben Milnes 3-10 doing the damage for Chorley.
The visitors chased down the total in 26.2 overs closing on 76-3 thanks to Mark Richardson with 22 and Rob Gardner unbeaten on 15.
Lancaster v St Annes
St Annes dismantle Lancaster by 165 runs at Lune Road, to go just two points behind League leaders Netherfield.
St Annes made 211-6 off 45 overs with Thomas Bradley 79 Jake Higson unbeaten on 36, Ricky Parmar 32 and Josh Taylor 21 the run makers.
Lancaster were all out for just 46 in 19.5 overs with Brendan Hetherington 29 the only batsman to reach double figures due to the bowling of Thomas Bradley 4-6 and Jake Higson 3-1.
Leyland v Netherfield
Netherfield drop points as Leyland take a winning draw in the top of the table battle.
Netherfield won the toss and put Leyland in to bat. Leyland made 157-8 off their 45 svers. Hamza Kahn with 48, Dale Vardy with 42 and Tom Reece 26 their run makers.
Marc Hadwin with figures of 4-31 and Scott Clement 3-24 were Netherfield's wicket takers.
Netherfield replied with 118-9 with Tom Williamson 41 and Matthew Goodall 30 giving Netherfield hope but it was left to Matthew Clinton and Joel Bibby to play out the draw.
Steven Pallett, Ross Bretherton and Michael Birchall each took 3 wickets each.
Preston v Blackpool
Blackpool won the toss and elected to bat and were 213-3 after 45 overs. Daniel Dixon unbeaten on 105 supported by Adrian Darlingto 46 and Sam Owne 31.
In reply Preston were 127-8 at the close with Mustafa Durrani 41 top and Sam Owen taking 4-27 for Blackpool.
