It was an afternoon of high drama in the Northern Cricket League as Morecambe,Fleetwood and Blackpool capitalise at the top of Division One.
DIVISION ONE:
Barrow v Morecambe
Morecambe pulled further clear at the top of Northern Cricket League Division One after winning at Barrow by 29 runs.
Josh Dixon won the toss and elected to bat. Barrow made Morecambe fight for their runs and were 32-2 when Ryan Pearson joined Dixon and they took the score to 88 when Pearson was run out for 26 off 69 balls.
Josh Dixon soon followed out for 42 off 104 balls with the sore on 93. Lewis Edge came to the wicket and once again had a crucial knock of 43 not out off 47 balls to guide Morecambe to 151 - 9 in their 50 overs. Edge's knock included 1 four and four sixes.
The Barrow bowlers bowled tightly and Greg Reynolds was the pick of them with figures of 3-11.
Barrow had a disastrous start being 5-2 and never recovered losing wickets on a regular basis.
On 89 - 9 Sri Lankan professional Tharanga Paranavitana was joined by Gary Collins and they took the total to 122 in the 39 over when Paranavitana was out for 81 becoming Suraj Randiv's fourth victim.
Tharanga's innings was off 109 balls and included five fours and three sixes.
Suraj Randiv lead the Morecambe fight with 4-49 ably supported by Eddie Read 3-34 and Tommy Clough 2-13 giving Morecambe another win
Chorley v Netherfield
Netherfield got the better of a rain reduced game at Chorley, as they came away with a winning draw.
The contest was reduced to 32 overs aside, saw Netherfield put 190-9 on the board with Dieter Klein making the most runs with 34 off 32 balls, Mark Clarkson at No 9 hitting out with 27 off 15 balls. Ben Barrow and Rick Potter also contributing, with 32 and 30 runs respectively.
Chorley's Peter Cummins had figures of 6-57 off eleven overs.
In Chorley's reply David Fisher with 66 off 95 balls and Will Moulton 35 off 35 gave them a good start followed by Ian Dickinson with 39 off 38 but ran out off overs and finished on 177-4, Dieter Klein took all the Chorley wickets and returned with figures of 4-47.
Fleetwood v Darwen
Fleetwood stunned Darwen as they won by seven wickets.
Darwen won the toss and batted on a wicket that was very lively resulting in them being 16-8 then captain Jordan Clacrke with 20 and Scott Jackson 16 not out took the total to 49 before being bowled out for 58 in 32.1 overs.
Ian Holland having a field day as he returned figures of 8-32 off 16.1 overs.
Darwen with very little to defend had no chance as Fleetwood had an opening partnership of 47 with Adam Parker 33 and David King 20 seeing them nearly home. They scored the required runs in 14.3 overs, closing on 62-3.

Kendal v Blackpool
Blackpool came back from the brink to defeat Kendal by 13 runs at Shap Road.
The League Champions put up a gutsy display to pull off this unlikely win.
Blackpool were in trouble at 61-8 when Andy Furniss was joined by Ben Howarth and they had a partnership of 50 when Andt Furniss was run out for 36, Ben Howarth was out shortly afterwards for 17 as Blackpool were bowled out for 118 in 41 overs.
Saeed Bariwala had figures of 4-30 off 10 overs, captain Chris Miller bowled 20 overs and took 3-46 and professional Eldred Hawken had 2-32 off 11.
In Kendal's reply they got off to a quick start as Saeed Bariwala eased the hosts along to 26, and despite losing Darren Braithwaite cheaply Kendal seemed on course. However once Bariwala fell the collapse began as Kendal were skittled out for 105 in 38.1 overs.
Steven Mercer brought into the attack at a crucial stage returned with figures of 5-14. Richard Gleeson also weighing in with figures of 3-32.
Lancaster v Preston
Lancaster saw off the Preston challenge by 117 runs at Lune Road. Lancaster recovered from a slow start being 17-3. Jamie Heywood 29 and Samuel Moorby 25 gave the innings momentum and this was taken on by Stuart Phillips with 61 of only 62 balls to steer Lancaster to the credible score of 192 in 48.1 overs.
Shabnan Ali bowled 20 overs and had figures of 4-59 with Sarfarz Navaz Patel taking 4-51 off 14 overs
Preston were blown away for just 75 in 34.2 overs, Shabnan Ali with 22 and REhman Shah 14 were the only Preston batsmen to reach double figures. Ben Simm ripped through them with figures of 6-41 off 17 overs, Callum East came on and mopped up the tail with 3-11 and Liam Moffat had 1 15 off 11 overs.
St Annes v Penrith
Penrith won by 7 wickets at St Annes.
Penrith won the toss and asked St Annes to bat. The first three batsmen were out for the same score 10. Tim Le Breton was building an innings when he was run out for 26, only Matthew Grindley 14 offered further resistance and St Annes were all out for 106 in 37.2 overs.
Penrith captain Kriss Mclean returning figures of 5-25 off 11.2 overs.
After the loss of an early wicket Penrith worked steadily towards their target. A brilliant run out of Samuel Hall for 25 by Matthew Taaffe gave Sat Annes a gimmer of hope but Jonathan Osborne's unbeaten knock of 31 and Alex Atkinsons 28 guided the visitors home as they closed on 111-3 in 31 overs.

Blackpool v Kendal
Blackpool awarded the game as Kendal could not raise a side
Darwen v Fleetwood
Darwen eased past Fleetwood by 86 runs, Fleetwood put Darwen in to bat and Andrew Brown set the ball rolling with 37 runs along with Michael Douglas 33 before Nathan Jackson unbeaten on 43 and 29 not out from Zac Whalley guided Darwen to 182-5 off a rain reduced 29 overs.
Jack Wilkinson had the best return for Fleetwood with 3-51
Fleetwood were never in the hunt and only Mark Wilkinson 24 and no 6 Benjamin Reader 19 with no 7 James Dunkerley 18 offered any resistancew and they all out in 26.5 overs for 96,
Sam Painter with two early wickets and two at the end did the damage and he finished with 5-31. Greg Lawrenson demolished the middle order with 3-36.
Morecambe v Barrow
Morecambe overcame Barrow by 8 wickets at Woodhill Lane,
Morecambe won the toss and asked a weakened Barrow team to bat and they were all out for 105 in 35.5 overs, Jordan Nicholson 48 enabled the home team to reach their total. Adam Derham had figures of 5-19.
Gulam Majes with an unbeaten 54 guided Morecambe home in 26.1 overs closing on 106-2.
Netherfield v Chorley
Netherfield go back to the top of Division Two after a comfortable 7 wicket win over Chorley.
Chorley won the toss and elected to bat, They were 111-8 off 45 overs due to the efforts of Michael Critchley 34, no 8 Michael Mead 21 and 23 extras
Scott Clement had figures of 3-17 from 12 overs supported by Stuart Nixon 2-24 off 12 and Matthew Clinton 2-25 off 8
Matthew Atkinson's unbeaten 68 off 72 balls guided Netherfield home in 25.4 overs closing on 116-3.
Penrith v St Annes
St Annes saw off Penrith by 7 wickets, Penrith won the toss and elected to bat and after the loss of an early wicket moved to 41 when Joe McKinley was out for 13, there followed a collapse with Eddie Robson trying to hold the innings together.
He was the seventh man out with the score on 69 of which he had made 39. Penrith were soon bowled for 88 in 33.4 overs.
The wickets were shared amongst the St Annes bowlers, David Bartholomew 3-5, Andy Drakes 3-9, Richard Thomas 2-24 and Ian Baldwin 1-21
When St Annes batted an opening stand of 34 between Luke Wilks 13 and Alex Bradley 22 laid the foundation for the win
David Hartley's 23 not out and David Bartholomew 18 not out guided them home closing on 89-3.
Preston v Lancaster
Lancaster won by 1 wicket at Preston, Preston all out for 144,
Batting first Preston got off to a good start with an opening partnership of 49, Akmal Shah was joined by Mustafa Durrani and they took the score to 90 before Shah was out for 31. Mustafa Durrani with 46 off 33 balls and Syed Ajmall Abbass Shah 20 enabled Preston to reach 144 in 39,3 overs.
Danny Welbourne had the best bowling figures of 4-22.
Danny Welbourne's 50 and Matthew Liver's 52 opening partnership were crucial, when they were out at 99-2 Lancaster struggled home in 35.4 overs closing on 147-9
Contributions by Nathan Baxter 13 and extras 15 with Phillip Sparrow 8 not out and Geoff Orr 3 not out seeing Lancaster over the line
Ahmed Mansoor with 4-14 and Hamza Ahmed 3-20 lead the Preston fight for victory.
