The lead at the top of Northern Cricket League Division One changes hands yet again as Morecambe climb back to the top. There are also wins for Darwen and Blackpool as the closest battle for the title in a number of seasons continues
DIVISION ONE:
Barrow v Preston

Chorley v Blackpool
Blackpool saunter past Chorley by 8 wicket. The game over in the quickest time ever with the match over by 3.12 pm.
Chorley batting first were blown away for just 39 in 19.5 overs. Richard Gleeson with figures of 6-7. Blackpools Kelly Smuts returning 4-11.
Blackpool's sub professional Kelly Smuts and Richard Gleeson knocked the runs off in just 11.4 overs closing on 41-2. Keiran Mc Cullagh taking the two wickets and returning the figures of 2-12.
Kendal v Darwen
Darwen climb up to second in the table after easing past Kendal by 8 wickets. Sub Professional Daryn Smit in scintillating form as he returned figures of 6-28, as Kendal were all out for 110 in 38.4 overs.
Kendal collapsed after racing into a 29-0 lead thanks to a first wicket stand of 29 between Saeed Bariwala and Shane Hyland.
Bariwala got himself out in the 4th over after seeing his attempted drive for 6 caught by Ammer Mirza off the bowling of Neil Cordingley.
Shane Hyland and Paul Dodds attempted to push the score on, only for Shane Hyland to be stumped by Jordan Clarke for 21 off the bowling of Sub Professional Daryn Smit.
Kendal on 53-2 and collapsed as Paul Dodds, Richard Herron and Darren Braithwate all fell to Smit,before Joseph Dodds was run out, with Kendal now toiling on 60-6 in the 21st over.
The hosts attempted to build a recovery through Skipper Chris Miller and South African Professional Eldred Hawken who put on 37. The partnership was broken when Chris Miller was caught in the deep for 15 by John Cordingley off the bowling of David Bowden.
Bowden then dismissed Stu Parkin for 0 caught by John Painter at silly point, before Daryn Smit trapped Ryan Nightingale LBW, Eldred Hawkens was the final wicket to fall as he went for a top scoring 36 after being stumped by Jordan Clarke as Daryn Smit completed his six wicket haul.
Kendal started the second innings well as Eldred Hawken bowled Darwen opener Ammer Mirza for 0 leaving Darwen on 0-1.
Hawken then took a second wicket seeing John Painter off as he was caught for 3 by Richard Herron, Darwen on 19-2.
However with such a low total to chase, a partnership of 95 by John Cordingley and Daryn Smit saw Darwen home in 34.2 overs closing on 111-2.
John Cordingley was 59 not out and Daryn Smits unbeaten on 39
Eldred Hawken returned with figures of 2-39.
Lancaster v Leyland
Leyland eased past Lancaster by 8 wickets at Lune Road,
Lancaster were bowled out for 153 in 44.5 overs with Rameez Raja scoring 59 off 78 ball and supported by Samuel Moody 33 off 49 balls.
Luis Reece with 5-52 and Nathan McDonnell 4-19 doing the damage for Leyland
The visitors needed only 27.1 overs for victory closing on 157-2. The Leyland innings had a terrible start being 8-2 before Richardt Frenz unbeaten on 78 off 84 balls and Henry Thompson unbeaten on 67 off 60 balls saw them home
Penrith v Netherfield
Penrith defeated Netherfield by 4 wickets with the hosts chasing down a revised total of 233, due to rain during the second innings which saw the game lose six overs.
Netherfield were all out for 248 in 47.3 overs, an opening partnership of 58 between Ben Barrow and Rick Potter, as well as a partnership of 112 between Marc Brown and Richard Potter all contributing to the total.
Richard Potter top scored with 78 off 83 balls and Nathan Chambers contributed with a quick fire 26 off 22 balls.
Penrith professional Paul Hindmarch had figures of 4-44 and Liam Trevaskis 3-51.
Penrith reached the revised target of 233 in 42.3 overs closing on 237-6, A stand of 119 between Ryan Carruthers and Paul Hindmarch keeping Penrith on course for victory with Carruthers top scoring with 82 off 66 balls and Hindmarch 44 off 69 balls.
Greg Hall guided the hosts home with an unbeaten 53 off 42 balls.
St Annes v Morecambe
Morecambe go back to the top of Division One after a dramatic 5 wicket win at St Annes. St Annes had earlier closed on 179-8 off 49.2 overs.
Timothy Le Breton with 62 off 85 balls was St Annes top scorer and was out to a brilliant catch by Suraj Randiv
Suraj Randiv had figures of 5-45 off 19 over and Eddie Read taking 3-71 off 14.2
Morecambe were in trouble at 43-5 when keeper Lewis Edge was joined by the experienced Phillip Dennison. They had an unbroken partnership of 140 to see the visitors home on 183-5.
Lewis Edge was 92 not out from 119 deliveries including nine fours and five sixes, The patient Dennison was 44 not
Xander Pitchers with figures of 3-5 from 18 overs and Matthew Grindley 2-49 off 17 were the St Annes wicket takers

Division 2 Round Up:
St Annes, Leyland and Netherfield continue to battle it out at the top of Division Two
Blackpool v Chorley
Blackpool defeated Chorley by seven wickets, Chorley were restricted to 185-9, Joseph Tiffin making 75 off 93 and Chris Baines returning figures of 4-34 for Blackpool
Blackpool won in 41-4 overs closing on 186-3, The hosts had an opening partnership of 131 between Adrian Darlington and Daniel Dixon, Dixon was out for 53 off 97 balls. Alex Smith joined Darlington, Darlington who was next to go for 80 off 75 balls.
Smith took Blackpool in sight of victory when he was out for 34 leaving Ciaran Johnson and Luke Smith to see their side home
Darwen v Kendal
Darwen won by 36 runs against a depleted Kendal team that only had 9 players. Darwen closed on 176-6 off 43 overs. Zac Whalley with 60 supported by Andrew Cook with 35.
Captain Mike Dugdale 3-37 was Kendal's best bowler
Kendal were all out for 140, Matthew Clarke with 56 lead the Kendal attempt for victory with Oliver Tyson 26, Michael Dugdale 25 and Paul Fearnyough 21 adding support before Chris Crompton with figures of 4-11 mopped up the tail
Leyland v Lancaster
Ross Bretherton hit an unbeaten century, as Leyland go second after defeating Lancaster by 81 runs. Leyland closing on an imposing 260-6 in 42.3 overs. Jake Peake joined in the run feat with 78.
Lancaster battled in reply thanks to Danny Welbourne who top scored with 93, 32 from Callun East and 23 from Lawrie Atkinson and were bowled out for 179 in 39 overs.
Ian Farrington with figures of 4-12 and Michael Birchall 3-45 were Leyland's most successful bowlers
Morecambe v St Annes
St Annes remain top of Division Two after a 4 wicket win at Morecambe. Morecambe posting 186-4 on the board. Matthew Derham with 55, and Gulam Maje 48.
Kevin Reid had figures of 2-44 and Richard Thomas had 1-16 off his 12 overs.
St Annes close on 189-6 in 44.2 overs, A partnership of 78 between Luke Wilks with 65 and Thomas Bradley with 59 put St Annes on their way to victory.
Irfan Qayyum and Gulam Maje had 2 wickets each.
Netherfield v Penrith
Netherfield remain in touch at the top after a commanding ten wicket win over Penrith at Parkside Road.
Penrith were all out for 127 in 44.4 overs, Marc Hadwin returning figures of 6-30. Joel Bibby, Matthew Clinton, Isaac Medhurst and Scott Clement also taking a wicket each.
Netherfield raced home to their ten wicket victory of 130-0 in 17.3 overs with Brendan Herron unbeaten on 70, and Matthew Atkinson unbeaten on 60.
