Blackpool close in at the top in dramatic style while Preston's struggles continue in a busy afternoon of action across The Northern Cricket League.
DIVISION ONE:
Darwen v St Annes
Darwen were left to settle for a winning draw against struggling St Annes. The hosts putting a commanding 279-3 on the board off 50 overs.
Professional Khaya Zondo top scoring with 91 with contributions from John Cordingley retired not out on 71. Ammer Mirza 49 andDavid Bowden closing the innings with 23.
St Annes to their credit battled holding on for a losing draw at 164-9. Openers Xander Pitches 39 and Adam Holt 33 gave them a good start but it was left to Nathan Armstrong unbeaten on 49 and Matthew Grindley 27 to guide them to the draw
Reece Davies had the best bowling figures of 3-21, with Niall Burke, Chris Wade and David Bowden weighing in with two wickets each.
Fleetwood v Barrow
Fleetwood's resurgence continues as they saw off Barrow by 6 wickets. Barrow were all out for 150 in 47.2 overs, Greg Reynolds battling with a top score of 68 off 120 balls.
Ian Holland once more Fleetwood's leading wicket taker weighing in with figures of 7-40.
The hosts easing home in 43 overs, closing on 151-4 thank to Ian Holland with 47 off 64 balls
Lancaster v Kendal
Lancaster pulled off a remarkable win after defeating Kendal by 16 runs at Lune Road. Ben Simm's side were seemingly out for the count as they were bowled out for 101 in 43.3 overs.
Kendal's Saeed Bariwala was bowling well returning figures of 5-55 ably supported by Eldred Hawken with 4-21.
In reply Kendal started well enough and with little on the scoreboard to defend, Kendal were seemingly cruising on 47-0 thanks to Darren Braithwaite's knock of 32 off 46 balls,
However a massive collapse in Kendal's innings saw them all out for 85 in 34.3 overs. Rameez Raja top scoring with 40.
Ben Simm ripped through Kendals line up with figures of 6-46. Tom Whitehouse also impressing with figures of 2-9. Liam Moffat with 1-16.
Lancaster winning a game that was unlikely earlier in the afternoon.
Leyland v Chorley
Chorley won at Leyland by 6 wickets, The hosts all out for 145 in 45 overs, Nathan McDonnell their top scorer with 31 and Edwin Moulton was Chorley's best bowler with figures of 3-28.
The visitors knocked off the runs in 38.2 overs closing on 148-4. Brenton Mc Donald was unbeaten on 49 off 77 balls supported by Ian Dickinson with 35 off 78 balls.
Netherfield v Blackpool
Blackpool won a thriller at Netherfield by 3 wickets to go within touching distance of League leaders Morecambe. Matthew Houston with an unbeaten 94 off 134 balls sealing the win on the last ball of the game.
Earlier John Huck hit a stunning unbeaten knock of 129 off 110 balls, with Ben Barrows 52 helping Netherfield to a score of 213 for 5 off a rain reduced 45 overs. Huck and Barrow put on a fourth wicket stand of 105.
Huck hit 29 runs in the last over of the game, the stunning score including 8 fours and 9 sixes.
Blackpool' s Jamie Thomson returned figures of 3-51.
Blackpool got off to a steady start in their reply with Matthew Houston and Richard Gleeson pushing the league champions on to 30 for the first wicket.. Sub Professional Chris Williams took the wicket of Richard Gleeson for 21 as he was caught and bowled by the Cumberland star.
Netherfield then got a second wicket as Josh Boyne went LBW to Scott Clement for 15 off 36 balls, Blackpool on 62-2.
However a third wicket partnership of 60 between Matthew Houston and Sub Professional Geeth Kumara saw Blackpool go along to 129 and in with a chance of victory.
Netherfield though had other ideas as Mark Clarkson removal of Kumara 28 off 37 balls was well caught by Chris Williams.
Clarkson then had Stephen Twist caught for 4 by Ben Barrow and the game was now in the balance on 129-4.
Jo Portman then saw Andy Furniss caught for 12 by Ben Barrow, before Mark Clarkson completed a 4 wicket haul with the wickets of Michael Penney and Ben Howarth who was caught and bowled by Clarkson for 0. Penney being caught by Ben Barrow.
In the end the game went down to the last over, with Blackpool skipper Paul Danson and Matthew Houston at the crease. Houston scoring the winning runs off the last ball as Blackpool celebrated a dramatic win. Blackpool closing on 214-7 off 45.
Opening batsman Matthew Houston's was unbeaten scoring 94 off 134 balls.
Preston v Penrith
Penrith steamrollered Preston by 222 runs at West Cliff, The blistering display led by Michael Slack who posted an unbeaten 145 off 143 balls. The knock including 16 fours and 4 sixes. Nicky Burns also contributed with 73 off 93 balls,with Ryan Carruthers 66 off 44 balls.
Penrith closed on a mammoth total of 340-2 off 50 overs.
Preston were blown away for 118 in reply in just 38.2 overs ,Greg Hall returning figures of 4-9.

Fleetwood won the toss and batted and were bowled out for 81 Tom Wilson top scored with 33 and the only other batsman to make double figures was Joseph Davis 19 and Alex Laird 17. Joshua Allington doing the damage with 7-25 off 10.1 overs
Barrow knocked the runs off for the loss of 4 wickets scoring 82-4 in 23.5 overs. Peter Deeks 38 and Ryan Gilmour 30 the main run makers
Blackpool v Netherfield
Blackpool knocked a depleted Netherfield side off the top of Division Two following a six wicket win at Stanley Park. Netherfield had a total of 7 players missing from the game leaving the side with a mountain to climb.
The hosts putting Netherfield in bowled them out in 42.1 overs, Declan Fisher 5-42, Sam Owen 4-12. Isaac Medhurst batting with an unbeaten knock of 43 off 49 balls.

Chorley v Leyland
Chorley stun defending Division Two Champions Leyland by defeating them by 92 runs at Windsor Park.
Chorley closing on 172-7 off 45 overs, as they recovered from 79-4. Roland Horridge the top run scorer with 64 off 97. Joseph Tiffin offering support with 39 off 53. Before a late blast of 21 off 34 by Andy Flear saw Chorley close on a competitive total.

Leyland were all out for just 80 in 27 overs, Chris Harty returning figures of 6-28. Lewis Saunders also weighing in with figures of 2-19.
Kendal v Lancaster
A low scoring game saw Kendal come out on top by 5 wickets with Lancaster at Shap Road.
Lancaster were blown away for just 71 in 35 overs. Alec Carradus returning figures of 4-11 and Mike Dugdale returning figures of 3-6.
Kendal easing home in 19.5 overs finishing on 73-5, Alec Carradus unbeaten on 28 off 33 balls.
Steven Armstrong with figures of 3-19 lead the Lancaster fightback.
Penrith v Preston
Penrith won by 14 runs against Preston at Tynefield Park. Penrith made 186 for 6 off 45 overs. Mark Osborne unbeaten on 77 and Dan Morland undefeated on 53.
Omer Sabir and Heszer Mahmood with 2 wickets each.
Preston were all out for 172 in 34.4 overs, Abdullah Kadva the main run getter with 40.

St Annes replace Netherfield at the top of Division Two despite Darwen getting a winning draw at Vernon Road.
