Morecambe stay on top after holding out for the draw and Blackpool close the gap.
DIVISION ONE:
Darwen v Morecambe
Darwen had to settle for a winning draw in the top of the table clash with Morecambe. Morecambe will be happy to take a losing draw as they still remain top of the Division.The hosts batting first closed on 244-7 off 50 overs. Darwen started well with both Ammer Mirza and Scott Jackson putting on 71 for the first wicket. Jackson going for 15 after being caught by Gert Maartens off the bowling of Lewis Smith.
After losing Jackson, a second wicket quickly fell as Chris Clarke was stumped for 0 off the bowling of Suraj Randiv.
Darwen recovered from the wobble as professional Khaya Zondo and Mirza pushed the score onto 125.
The partnership was finally broken when Ammer Mirza fell for 54 after being caught by Lewis Smith off the bowling of Suraj Randiv.
Club professional Khaya zondo impressed with 54 runs , as Mark Friend went for 1 after being caught by Suraj Randiv off the bowling of Lewis Smith.Once Zondo was dismissed by Suraj Randiv, Darwen were in trouble on 148-5. John Cordingley and David Bowden did push Darwen to a mini recovery before Bowden went for 29 after being caught by Josh Dixon off the bowling of Jamie Cassidy.
From that point on Cordingley and Jordan Clarke pushed Darwen on to 224, before Clarke was run out for 14. Darwen eventually closing on 244-7 with John and Neil Cordingley seeing the innings to a close. John Cordingley was unbeaten on 35.
Suraj Randiv had figures of 3-87 with Lewis Smith 2-35 and Jamie Cassidy 1-78.
Morecambe's reply got off to a slow start as they lost both Lewis Smith (caught by Khaya Zondo, bowled by Niall Burke) and Suraj Randiv who was caught by Jordan Clarke off the bowling of Neil Cordingley.
The visitors then found themselves on 59-4, when they lost both Ryan Pearson and Lewis Edge both falling to Neil Cordingley.
However Josh Dixon and Phillip Dennison stood firm and steadied the Morecambe ship. Dennison went for a steady 54 after being bowled by Niall Burke. Morecambe despite losing Gareth Pedder for 7 as he fell to David Bowden had recovered to 176-6. An unbeaten knock from captain Josh Dixon who hit 83, and Eddie Read with 6 saw the leaders to a losing draw closing on 182-6.
Fleetwood v Penrith
Penrith pulled off a remarkable run chase to defeat Fleetwood by 2 wickets in a high scoring encounter.
Fleetwood batting first had posted a commanding score of 259-5 off 50 overs, Australian professional David King making his second Century in a row with 124 off 125 balls. (This included 8 fours and 2 sixes).
David King was supported by Mike Clinning with 58 off 87 balls, hittihg eight fours in the process
Greg Hall produced the best figures for Penrith with 4-49.
In reply Penrith chased down the total in 48.5 overs closing on 264-8. Opening batsman Michael Slack set up the chase up with 61. Ryan Carruther 47 and Alex Atkinson 73 kept the momentum going and an unbeaten knock of 33 by Paul Hindmarch supported by. Kriss Mclean scoring a crucial 11 runs with Tony Threlkeld saw the visitors home

Kendal v Chorley
Chorley were left frustrated as they could only manage a winning draw at Kendal.
Kendal have shown plenty of fight and determination, all these qualities yet again on show at Shap Road.
Inform Chorley batting first closed on a commanding 202-8, Chorley's main run makers were Australian professional Brenton Mc Donald scoring 56 off 81 balls, Ian Dickinson with 49 off 100 balls. and Will Moulton with 31.
The pick of the Kendal bowlers were Saeed Bariwala 4-56 and Eldred Hawken taking 3-67.
Kendal struggled in the run chase, Saeed Bariwala batting well for 48 off 50 ( 1 four and five sixes). With Kendal 9 wickets down, thanks to the bowling of Brenton Mcdonald who returned figures of 5-19.
The game looked over but for the second week running a captains performance by Chris Miller who scored an unbeaten 36 off 79 balls along with Stu Parkin who saw off 27 balls for 0 runs helped Kendal to 148-9 and a losing draw.
Lancaster v St Annes
St Annes will take some positives after taking a winning draw at Lancaster. St Annes closing on 185-7 off 50 overs thanks to Adam Holt 48, Andy Kellett 44. An unbeaten 25 from Matthew Grindley and Matthew Taaffe scoring 23
The Lancaster wicket takers were Daniel Chambers 3-34. Ben Simm 2-45 and Iain Burstow 2-31.
In reply Lancaster struggled to 137-8 thanks to Daniel Chambers unbeaten 28, Matthew Grindley removed the top four and finished with figures of 5-47.
Leyland v Netherfield
534 runs were scored in a high scoring afternoon as Netherfield take a winning draw from Leyland, with the hosts just 9 runs short of victory with David Makinson's men almost pulling off a remarkable run chase.
Netherfield batting first made 271-5. Both openers were in dominant form Richard Potter 81 and Ben Barrow 70 followed by captain Marc Brown with an unbeaten 70
David Makinson was the pick of the Leyland bowlers with figures of 3-94.
In reply Leyland fell just short closing on 263-8, Opening batsman Chris Parkinson with 81 off 80 balls lead the chase with Richardt Frenz with 78 off 102 balls and Andrew Makinson scoring 36 off 58 balls making major contributions

Preston v Blackpool
Blackpool stopped the rot with a 147 run win at Preston.
Blackpool closing on 237-5 thanks to Josh Boyne with 91 off 85 balls, opening batsman Richard Gleeson 54 off 80 balls and Stephen Twist with an unbeaten 56 off 48 balls

Netherfield take a stranglehold at the top as Leyland fall, but St Annes stay in touch.
Blackpool v Preston
Blackpool saw off Preston by six wickets at Stanley Park.
Preston were all out for 125 in 42.5 overs, Mustafa Durrani with 44, Altaf Ahmed 27 and Mohammed llyas 20 were the main run makers with Matthew Siddall 4-47 doing the damage for Blackpool.
Blackpool's reply started brightly with Adrian Darlington with 27, before Sam Owens unbeaten 42 and Tom Myerscough's unbeaten 26 saw the hosts home in 31.5 overs, closing on 126-4.
Chorley v Kendal
Chorley defeated Kendal by 103 runs at Windsor Park,
Chorley closing on 198-7 after their 45 overs thanks to Joseph Tiffin with 48, Max Harper 41. and Michael Mead with an unbeaten 21.
For Kendal Toby Tyson had figures of 3-48.
Kendal's reply hampered by an injury to Sam Dyson which prevented him from batting.
Kendal closing on 95-9 Oliver Tyson top scored with 29 off 47 balls. Max Harper returning figures of 4-2 in 2.4 overs
Morecambe v Darwen
Morecambe took a winning draw with Darwen at Woodhill Lane, The hosts closing on 180-7.
Gulam Maje with an unbeaten 48 for Morecambe and Darwen's Andrew Cook and Reece Davies with a brace of wickets
Darwen held on in reply at 97-7 thanks to Gary Jackson with an unbeaten 32. Irfan Qayyum with figures of 3-25, Charlie Wilkinson with figures of 3-8 lead the Morecambe charge for victory
Netherfield v Leyland
Netherfield won the big game at the top of Division Two as they defeated Leyland by seven wickets. The victory keeping Netherfield on top and still unbeaten in the league

Leyland batted first and were restricted to 184-6, Hamza Kahn batting through for an unbeaten 89 with Adam Smith scoring 29.
Marc Hadwin had 3-28 from his twelve overs.

Fleetwood claimed a narrow 2 wicket win at Penrith.
Penrith were all out for 132 in 34.3 overs, Eddie Robinson top scoring with 46 and Luke Wilkinson r4-28. And Alex Ryder 3-37 the main takers the wickets for Fleetwood

St Annes close in at the top after a 9 wicket success over Lancaster.
Lancaster closing on 173-5.after a patient 81 from Lee Marshall with David Bartholomew with 2-29 the best bowling figures for St Annes
St Annes knock ed the runs off in 22 overs, closing on 174-1, Luke Wilks setting the chase up with 40. before an unbeaten 57 by Paul Wilks and Sajid Nalbandhs unbeaten 56 saw St Annes to victory
