Blackpool go clear at the top and Fleetwood climb up to third. George Linde's century lights up Shap Road, in an entertaining afternoon of Northern League action:

DIVISION ONE:

Blackpool v Barrow:

Namibian Professional Christi Viljoen returned figures of 5-43 as Blackpool defeated Barrow by 4 wickets at Stanley Park.

Viljoen and Richard Gleeson who returned figures of 3-32, were both instrumental in bowling the visitors out for 123 in 43 overs. Steven Mercer also weighing in with figures of 2-10.

In reply Blackpool recovered from a slow start where they were 64-4., however the lower order batting of Alex Smith who top scored with 45 off 76 and an unbeaten 20 off 44 balls by Joshua Boyne saw the hosts over the line in 44.3 overs, closing on 124-6.

Graham Dawson and Ryan Gilmour took 2 wickets each for the visitors, with Daryl Wearing and Gary Collins taking a wicket each.

Kendal v Darwen:

Darwen got the better of Kendal taking a winning draw at Shap Road. South African Professional George Linde the star of the show as his top scoring 103, helped the visitors to a mammoth total of 271-5 off 50 overs. Both Linde and Chris Clarke who scored 84 put on a partnership of 175 for the 2nd wicket.

Kendal skipper Stu Parkin the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-80.

In reply the hosts struggled to 184-9. George Linde returning figures of 5-51 in what was a good all round performance.

Darren Moore started the innings off well for Kendal with 32, however it was the batting of New Zealand Professional Jamie How that kept Kendal going as he top scored with 92, whilst Ryan Shepherd also contributed with 34.

At the close Kendal were 9 wickets down holding on with both Stu Parkin and Chris Miller at the crease.

Lancaster v Fleetwood:

Fleetwood overcome Lancaster by 52 runs at Lune Road. Mat Clark's team were bowled out for 171 in 45.2 overs. JP De Villiers with 58 and Adam Parker with 55. Iain Burstow returning figures of 6-34 off 15.2 overs

In reply Lancaster were bowled out for 119 in 32.5 overs. Adam Parker taking 4-56 for Fleetwood

Morecambe v Netherfield:

Morecambe picked up a useful 2 wicket win over Netherfield at Woodhill Lane. Netherfield batting first were restricted to 153-9. Yakub Bhamji with figures of 5-41, whilst Kelly Smuts weighed in with figures of 3-55.

Kelly Smuts top scoring with 47 and Ryan Pearson with 45. Craig Atkinson's 18 also crucial, leaving Yakub Bhamji and Gert Maartens to see the game out.

Sri Lankan Professional Saliya Saman the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-32.

Penrith v Preston:

Jibran Kahn hit's his second century in 3 league games after Preston take a winning draw at Penrith.

Jibran posted a ton in the losing draw at Barrow a few weeks back was instrumental in Preston's first innings total of 225-8.

Soyeb Dukanwala professional made 42. and Kriss Mclean returned figures of 4-69 for Penrith

Penrith replied and closed on 178-9, Alex Atkinson with 56 off 92, and Ryan Carruthers with 55 off 49 balls. Saeed Bariwala returning figures of 4-39.was again Preston's best bowler

St Annes v Chorley

Chorley pulled off a surprise 56 run victory over St Annes. Will Moulton hitting an incredible 50 off 38 deliveries after only coming to the crease with 13 overs remaining. Moulton reaching his 50 with an incredible dil scoop six. Moulton ending up with 65 off 49 balls, which included 6 fours and 4 sixes.

David Fisher top scoring with 75 off 137 balls for Andrew Holdsworth's team as Chorley closed on 202-5.

St Annes got off to a bad start in their reply as they lost two quick wickets, but a top scoring 54 off 54 balls by Nathan Armstrong put Andy Kellett's men back in the game. However once Armstrong went the game was effectively over as Chorley bowled St Annes out for 146 in 38.2 overs.

Sunday 26th Junly
Darwen v Lancashire Colts

Lancashire Colts defeated Darwen in a low scoring match at Birch Hall. Lancashire Colts batted first and were bowled out for 72, Danny Lamb top scoring with 21 and Kamran Anwar 4-30 was Darwen's best bowler

In reply Darwen were all out for 61. Kamran Anwar 16 and Chris Clarke 15 the only Darwen players to make double figures. The Colts wicket takers were Danny Lamb 3-6, Liam Gray 3-15 and Daniel Houghton 3-16

Division Two Round Up

Netherfield go up to 2nd with victory over Morecambe, whilst St Annes have to settle for a losing draw at Chorley, with Leyland having the weekend off.

Barrow v Blackpool:

Barrow get a winning draw against Blackpool at Ernest Pass. Rugved Insulkar with an unbeaten 84 as Barrow closed on 166-7.

Blackpool holding on at 121-8. The wickets shared about as Paul Riley and Lee Hogg take 2 wickets each.

Chorley v St Annes:

Alex Weetman tonned up with 111 as Chorley got a winning draw with St Annes. Weetman's knock coming in the first innings as Chorley closed on 200-5.

St Annes holding on at 168-9, Simon Moulton with figures of 4-35, with Joe Barker taking 3-23.

Darwen v Kendal:

Darwen defeated a depleted Kendal by 7 wickets at Birch Hall. Kendal restricted to 112-9. Sam Painter the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-18. Mike Dugdale top scoring with 34.

In reply Darwen eased home in 24 overs closing on 113-3. John Painter with 25 and Matthew Painter with 25.

Fleetwood v Lancaster:

Lancaster defeated Fleetwood by 6 wickets at Broadwater. Fleetwood batted first and were 159-9 at the close of their innings thanks to James gregson 59 and Scott Richardson 51.

In reply Lancaster knocked off the runs in 38.1 overs reaching 162-4. James Davies with 104no their main run maket with 30 from Lawrie Atkinson

Netherfield v Morecambe:

Netherfield won a thrilling contest at Parkside Road,defeating Morecambe by 1 wicket.

Morecambe closed on 188-5, Matthew Derham with an unbeaten 52 and Lewis Smith with 48.

In reply Netherfield were thankful to the lower order batting of Mike Dugdale who posted an unbeaten 51 batting at number 8. Matthew Goodall also with a knock of 47.

Brad Aireys unbeaten 23 the last man in seeing the hosts home in 44.3 overs closing on 192-9.

Preston v Penrith:

Congratulations to Preston on gaining their first win of the season with the defeat of Penrith by 4 wickets at West Cliff, Penrith all out for 122 in 43.5 overs. Hamza Ahmed returning outstanding figures of 7-18. Mark Osborne's rallying with an unbeaten 41 for the visitors.

In reply Preston knocked the runs off in 38 overs closing on 123-6. Moshin Patel with 39 and Graham Dobson with an unbeaten 30. Robbie White with figures of 4-26 for the visiting team.

Sunday 27th July

Morecambe v Barrow

Morecambe defeated Barrow by 5 wickets in their rearranged game against Barrow at Woodhill Lane. Barrow batted first and made 194-5 in their 45 overs. Tom Penny made 82no with valuable contributions from Rugved Insulkar 32 and Lee Hogg 24.

In reply Morecambe reached their target 195-5 in 42.2 overs. Gareth Pedder 61 lead the chase with Sam Firth 37 Michael Fisher 32 aiding the cause
