Blackpool remain top, whilst Leyland win, as Darwen suffer a surprise defeat as the race for the title continues to heat up after an afternoon of Northern League action
DIVISION ONE:
Barrow v Preston:
Barrow's Sam Dutton and Preston's Jibran Kahn both hit centuries as Barrow were left frustrated with a draw in their home encounter with Saeed Bariwala's Preston.
Preston did very well to hold on at 198-9, especially as they had 58 over's to bat out, following on from Barrow's earlier declaration of 237-3.
The hosts started the game in emphatic fashion, as both Kaustubh Pawar and Dean Williams raced head to 58, before Pawar got himself ran out by Jibran Kahn for 24.
Despite the setback Barrow pushed on with both Sam Dutton and Dean Williams at the crease, Williams, made 56 off 97 balls, before getting stumped by Paul Masterson.

In reply, Preston had 58 over's to bat out, with Jibran Kahn posting a century as he reached 108 off 130 balls.
Saeed Bariwala's team were up against it, as Gary Collins 3-57 and Kaustubh Pawars 3-39 put the visitors under increasing pressure, however Preston held on for a losing draw closing on 198-9.
Blackpool v Chorley
Blackpool remained top of Northern Cricket League Division One after defeating Chorley by 166 runs at Stanley Park.
The hosts batting first closed on 253-6, Christi Viljeon top scoring with 54 off 60 balls, and Paul Danson scored 51 off 62 balls before Stephen Twist was unbeaten with 52 off 39 balls Will Moulton took 3-81 and Chris Harty had 3-71 for Chorley
In reply Chorley were ripped apart by the bowling of Christi Viljeon who returned figures of 7- 40 with Chorley all out for 87 in 30.2 overs. Richard Gleeson also in good form with figures of 3-25.
Chorley's target was reduced to 213 off 42 overs due to a rain disruption during the second innings.
Darwen v Morecambe:
Kelly Smuts 160 and Lewis Edge's 123 stunned Darwen at Birch Hall, as Morecambe pulled off a surprise 176 run victory.
Their dominant partnership enabled Morecambe to declare on a massive 304-7 in 46.4 overs. Darwen's Kamran Anwar returning 4-118, and Chris Wade with figures of 3-61.
In reply Yakub Bhamjis 5-36 and Kelly Smuts 4-53, ripped through the hosts as Darwen were all out for a low scoring 128 in 39 overs.
Fleetwood v St Annes:
St Annes won at Fleetwood by 7 wickets. St Annes winning on a reduced target after losing 8 overs due to rain in the second innings.
Fleetwood being bowled out for 75 in 36.3 overs, Michael Harling 4-13 and Toby Bulcock with 4-12,
St Annes target reduced to 67 as they knocked the runs off in 23 overs.
Lancaster v Netherfield:
Lancaster defeated Netherfield by 5 wickets with Lancaster winning on a reduced target of 136 off 3 overs, due to rain in the 2nd innings.
Netherfield posting 183-9 .Saliya Saman with an unbeaten 48. For Lancaster Michael Barry had figures of 4-31 and Iain Perrieman returning figures of 3-42.
Lancaster won on the reduced target of 136-3, Michael Barry with 56 and Samuel Moorby with an unbeaten 43.
Penrith v Leyland
Leyland knocked off a big score to defeat Penrith by 8 wickets and remain 2nd behind Blackpool at the top of the division.
In reply, Leyland getting over the line in 37 overs, Alex Ross with an unbeaten 131 off 90 balls, and Luis Reece with 74 off 85 balls as Leyland closed on 242-2 in the 37th over.
Penrith posting 240-6, Greg Hall 64, and Alex Atkinson with an unbeaten 56.

Chorley v Blackpool:
Blackpool won at Chorley by 8 wickets, Chorley were all out for 133 in 43.1 overs, Jake Muncaster taking 4-12.
The visitors knocked the runs off in 23.5 overs, closing on 135-2. Gurmandeep Bains with an unbeaten 72.
Leyland v Penrith:
Jake Peake hit an unbeaten 129 as Leyland cruised to a 113 run victory over Penrith.

Penrith were all out for 106 in 44.2 overs, Steven Pallett with figures of 4-12 was Leyland's best bowler
Morecambe v Darwen:
Darwen won at Morecambe by 6 wickets, after chasing down a revised target of 135 in a rain affected contest at Woodhill Lane.
Morecambe setting a chase of 170-9. Michael Armstrong with 40 and Darwen's Richard Nairey returning figures of 4-40.
In Darwens reply Matthew Painter top scored with 55 as the visitors chased down the revised target of 135, closing on 137-4 in 30.2 overs. Jamie Cassidy returning figures of 3-31.
Netherfield v Lancaster:
The rain hit Netherfields game with Lancaster in the 34th over of the second innings as Netherfield closed with a winning draw at Parkside Road.
Nathan Dixon top scoiing with 52 as Netherfield closed on 188-7. Daniel Chambers with 4-29 for the visitors.
Lancaster in reply were on 126-4, with Daniel Chambers top scoring with 36, before the rain affected the game.
Preston v Barrow:
Preston got a winning draw with Barrow with the rain affecting the game. Preston scored 186-6, Syed Ajmal Abbas Shah with 57. Sam Henderson with figures of 3-55. for Barrow
Barrow struggled to 62-7 in the 35th over, Murtaza Hussain returning figures of 3-23.
St Annes v Fleetwood:
St Annes keep up the pressure at the top after a 5 wicket home win over Fleetwood. Fleetwood closing on 197-7, Nick Wall with 73 off 128 balls. And James Gregson 45no off 35 balls
In reply Nanthesh Kiruparen's 52 off 71 balls and Geeth Kamburugamuwe 50 off 69 balls help St Annes to set up the win, as the hosts reached their reduced target of 172-5 in 35.5 overs.
David Bartholomew with 33no guided them home after the loss of quick wickets Wayne Clarke had figures of 4-42 for Fleetwood.
