The battle for the Division One crown is going right down to the wire as Leyland went joint top of the division with Barrow.

Kendal shoot up to 5th after an emphatic win at Fleetwood, whilst Chorley also impressed with a comfortable win over Netherfield, in a very exciting afternoon of Northern League action

St Annes v Leyland

Leyland go joint top of Division One following a 76 run victory at St Annes. David Makinson's team impressed throughout, as they closed on 228-7 off 50 overs.

Sub Professional, Londis Lewis top scored with 69 off 89 balls (Londis was deputizing for Luis Reece who is playing for Lancashire) and Chris Parkinson also batted well for 53 off 77 balls.

For St Annes Toby Bulcock, Mitchell Boluls and Matthew Grindley took 2 wickets each

In reply St Annes were all out for 152 in the 47th over, Tayyab Afsar taking an impressive 6-46, with David Makinson taking 4-31. Toby Bulcock top scoring with 45 off 68 balls, whilst Andy Kellett scored 36 off 72 balls.

Lancaster v Barrow

Barrow were stunned as they crashed to a 51 run defeat by Lancaster at Lune Road. Daryl Wearing's team would have been confident of victory especially after bowling Lancaster out for 109 in 48.1 overs.

The below par score helped by the bowling of Gary Collins who returned figures of 3-17. Daryl Wearing also impressing with figures of 2-20. Sub Professional Adil Raza made an instant impact taking 2-38

Lancaster's Kieran Moffat top scored with 27 off 77 whilst Danny Welbourne also batted well for his 18 off 35 balls.

Barrow in reply were bowled out for 58 in just 27.1 overs Jannisar Khan ripping through the visitors line up returning figures of 5-21.ably supported by Ben Simm 3-11, and Liam Moffat 2-12. Greg Reynolds was Barrow's best batsman with 28 off 59 balls.

Kendal v Fleetwood

Kendal go 5th in Division One, after a comprehensive 9 wicket win over Fleetwood at Shap Road.

Both teams were without a professional with Ian Holland returning home

The game was 15 minutes late to start due to the wet outfield, however with the game reduced to 48 overs aside, Kendal opted to put the visitors in

A good decision as Kendal bowled Fleetwood out for 74 in 47.4 overs. Jack White and Adam Cowperthwaite doing all the damage with both taking 5 wickets, Jack White taking 5-34 and Adam Cowperthwaite with figures of 5-30.

Kendal raced home reaching their target of 75 - 1 in 17.1 overs, Ryan Nelson was unbeaten with 26 off 59 balls and Terry Hunte unbeaten on 23 off 20 balls.

Chorley v Netherfield

Chorley picked up a comfortable 5 wicket win over Netherfield at Windsor Park. Netherfield were shot out for 81 in 33.4 overs. Billy Smith and Chris Harty with 3 wickets apiece, Iain Critchley and Gaurav Dhar taking 2 wickets apiece.

Ben Barrow was Netherfield's top batsman with 23 off 56 balls, whilst Brad Earl ended unbeaten with 20 off 35 balls.

Chorley made 85-4 in 23 overs, Andrew Griffiths with 31 off 44 and Gaurav Dhar unbeaten on 30 off 19 balls. Stuart Nixon and Scott Clement taking 2 wickets each

Morecambe v Blackpool

Morecambe defeated Blackpool by 1 wicket in a pulsating encounter at Woodhill Lane

Blackpool closed their innings on 118-9, Alex Smith with 31 off 57 balls and Andy Furniss with 20 off 39 balls Vishal Tripathi 3-39 and Jake Smith 3-24.were Morecambe's main wicket takers

Morecambe were made to fight for their victory taking 47.4 overs to make the winning total of 119 - 9, Josh Dixon laying the platform with 34 off 102 balls, and Lewis Edge also contributing with 20 off 21 balls. Yakub Bhamji scored the winning runs, Blackpool's Andy Furniss taking 3-23.

Darwen v Preston

Darwen Professional Alan Kruger may not be returning next season, however Kruger put in a performance to remember for Jordan Clarke's team as he returned outstanding figures of 7-36, as Darwen defeated Preston by 9 wickets at Birch Hall.

Preston have struggled all season and found life difficult when they were bowled out for 91 in 34.3 overs

Hamza Ahmed (22) and Mohsin Modhi (20),did offer some resistance, but with Kruger in the form he was in they had little to no chance of gaining a result

In reply Jordan Clarke's unbeaten 44 and Christopher Clarke's 32 not out saw the hosts home in 27.2 overs closing on 94-1.

Morecambe stay top of Division Two whilst Barrow keep the pressure on

Blackpool v Morecambe

Morecambe stay at the top of Division Two, thanks to an 8 wicket win at Blackpool.

The league leaders restricted Blackpool to 154-9, Richard Cupit returning figures of 4-24. Joshua Boyne top scoring with 55 off 94 balls for the hosts

In reply Gareth Pedders 73 not out off 69 balls and Gulam Majes unbeaten 65 off 122 balls eased Morecambe home in 41-3 overs, closing on 155-2

Barrow v Lancaster

Barrow remain in contention for the title after a comfortable 83 run victory over Lancaster

Barrow were 176-5 in their 45 overs, Tom Penny with 60 and Ryan Gilmour with 48 their leading batsmen

Lancaster were all out for 93 in 44.3 overs, Ryan Gilmour taking 4-16 and Liam Walker taking 3-14 Daniel Chambers was the top scorer for the visitors with 41

Fleetwood v Kendal

Fleetwood defeated nine man Kendal by 65 runs at Broadwater!. Scott Richardson with 52 off 79 balls and Wayne Clarke with 43 off 71 balls as Fleetwood set a chase of 175-9. Mike Dugdale and Lewis Richardson taking 3 wickets each for Kendal

Leyland v St Annes

Leyland overcame St Annes by 24 runs, the hosts closing on 104-7. Sam Oldham unbeaten on 27 off 43 balls, and Tom Reece with 21 off 44 balls. Ian Baldwin taking 3-30 for the visitors.

Netherfield v Chorley

Chorley eased to a comfortable 68 run victory over Netherfield at Parkside Road. David Edwards with an unbeaten 50 as Chorley closed on 149-5 Ryan Wilson and Chesney Walling taking 2 wickets each

Netherfield were bowled out for 81 in 33.5 overs, Edwin Moulton returning figures of 5-13, with Michael Mead taking 3-19. Stephen Jones with a battling 27 for the hosts

Preston v Darwen

Darwen won by 6 wickets at Preston, Preston were all out for 71. Graham Ainslie taking 5-19

Darwen needed only 22 overs to reach their winning score of 74-4, Gary Jackson their main scorer with 34, Preston's Akmal Shah had figures of 2-11
