Barrow pick up a massive result in a victory at Kendal, Leyland and Fleetwood keep the pressure on at the top after both teams picked up crucial results in another action packed afternoon of Northern League action.
DIVISION ONE
Kendal v Barrow
League leaders Barrow picked up a much needed 12 points with a 4 wicket win at Kendal. The leaders opted to put Kendal in on what was a fantastic summers day of cricket
Barrow got off to a great start as they dismissed the top 3 of Kendal leaving the hosts on 26-3.
Darren Moore the first to go for 0,falling victim to a Sam Dutton catch off the bowling of Australian Professional Jonathan Wells.
The prize wicket of Australian A star Alex Doolan followed with skipper Daryl Wearing taking a top class catch off Jonathan Wells giving him his 2nd wicket of the afternoon.
Ryan Nelson then went for 9 caught by Jonathen Wells off the bowling of Daryl Wearing.
Kendal at this stage were struggling as Barrow were bowling and fielding well, however the momentum started to swing in Kendals favour as Terry Hunte and Jack White batted beautifully pushing Stu Parkins team past 100.
Barrow finally broke the partnership when Jack White on 30 off 55 balls was out, Sam Dutton taking a straight forward catch off Jonathan Wells to give Jonathan his third wicket
Patrick Allington was brought into the bowling attack and took the prize wicket of Terry Hunte bowling him for 73.
After Hunte's dismissal the wickets tumbled for Kendal as Patrick Allington went on to return figures of 5-23 ably supported by Jonathan Wells 3-37, Kendal were all out for 163 in 49.2 overs

In reply Barrow raced to 20, before Sam Dutton fell to Adam Cowperthwaite with Ryan Nelson taking the catch.
However the early loss of the wicket did not phase the leaders as they pushed on to 98 before Jonathan Wells fell for 36,as Nick Lethwaite dismissed him with Stu Parkin taking the catch.
Barrow then lost Nicky Burns for 1 with Lewthwaite taking another wicket as Shane Hyland claimed the catch. The visitors now on 100-3, had to battle as Alex Doolan put more pressure on taking 2 wickets.
However Barrow held their nerve reaching 164-6 in 44.4 overs, Ryan Brown setting the platform with 53 off 101 balls before Greg Reynolds 28 off 39 balls and the unbeaten 12 off 15 by Rhys Studt saw the leaders home
Leyland v Lancaster
Leyland kept up the pressure at the top after a very close 2 wicket win against Lancaster.
Lancaster scored 170-9 in their 50 overs, Professional Jannisar Kahn top scoring with 61 off 94 balls, Keiran Moffat with 50 off 89, and Ben Simm unbeaten on 32 off 21 balls. Andrew Makinson 5-28 being Leyland's top bowler

Fleetwood v Preston
Fleetwood defeated Preston by a resounding 162 runs at Broadwater.
Mike Clinning with 81 off 106 balls and Adam Parker 69 off 93 balls enabled the champions to declare on 231 - 4 in the 47th over
In reply Preston were all out for 69 in 30.2 over's, Sam Bell taking 4-27. Preston were one player light with Moshin Modhi absent due to illness
St Annes v Blackpool
Blackpool came away from St Annes with a winning draw, the visitors closing on 223-6 off 50 over's, Craig Brown with 77 and Richard Gleeson with an unbeaten 34. Stephen Twist 35 and Andy Furniss 29 kept the scorebaord ticking over
In reply Nathan Armstrong with 60 Andy Kellett 34 not out with Sajid Nalbandh 29 saw St Annes to 185 - 8 at the close, Richard Gleeson taking 3-66 for the visitors.
Darwen v Netherfield
Netherfield eased to an 8 wicket win at Darwen. Darwen were restricted to 145-9, Alan Kruger with 47 and Jordan Clarke with 39. Shane Dixon taking 3-47 for the visitors
In reply Netherfield knocked the runs off in 28.2 overs as they reached 147-2, Marc Brown top scoring with 44 and Ben Barrow making 42. Colin Ackermann's unbeaten 30 and John Hucks unbeaten 23 seeing the visitors home.
Morecambe v Chorley
Chorley bounced back from their 10 wicket defeat to Kendal with an impressive 9 wicket win at Morecambe
Morecambe collapsed to 78 all out in 36.3 overs, Gaurav Dhar taking 4-5, Will Moulton with 3-20 and Billy Smith taking 3-14.
Chorley needed only 20 overs to reach thier wiinning total of 82-1, Andrew Griffiths with an unbeaten 49 off 56 balls.

Barrow v Kendal
Barrow were made to work hard in their 3 wicket victory over Kendal at Ernest Pass. The visitors opting to bat and closed on 141-8 off 45 overs.
Young Richard Herron top scoring with 37 off 67 balls, with Darren Nightingale 23 off 56 balls and Lewis Richardson 23 off 54 balls also contributing.
Paul Riley taking a hat trick and returned with figures of 5-44.
Barrow's Lee Hogg with an unbeaten 52 and a contribution of 44 by captain Ian Allington saw the hosts home to 142-7 off 44.1 overs. Kendal's Andrew Dugdale took 4-24.
Blackpool v St Annes
St Annes won by 10 wickets at Blackpool. Blackpool were restricted to 137-9 off 45 overs. Tom Jefferson 37 and Sam Owen 37 scoring their runs
The St Annes bowlers shared the wickets Richard Thomas and Charles Boucher taking 2 wickets each, with Ben Willis and David Bartholomew taking 1 wicket.
St Annes needed only 22.1 overs for victory, Charles Boucher with an unbeaten 68 off 65 balls, and Mark Emsley unbeaten 65 off 58 balls saw St Annes home reaching 138-0
Chorley v Morecambe
Chorley were bowled out for 85 in 38.3 overs Morecambe's James Law destroying the opposition with 5-18 to help his team to a 5 wicket victory
Chorley made Morecambe work for their victory but Ayush Sharma's unbeaten 26 saw the visitors home to 86-5 in 33 overs
Lancaster v Leyland
Leyland made light work of Lancaster at Lune Road as they won by 9 wickets. Lancaster were bowled out for 83. James Rounding taking 4-19 and Alex Williams returned figures of 3-14
The visitors winning in 30.1 overs as they reached 84-1, Tom Reece with an unbeaten 31 and Ross Bretherton unbeaten on 28.
Netherfield v Darwen
Netherfield got a winning draw in a dramatic clash with Darwen at Parkside Road.
The home team had posted a good score of 150-7, Matthew Goodall unbeaten with 35 off 52 balls and Steven Wilson scoring 33 off 67 balls.
Liam Dugdale batting well with an unbeaten 13 off 14 balls. Darwen captain Andrew Cook returning figures of 4-25.
In reply Netherfield had the visitors deep in trouble but Darwen's Gary Jackson caused the main frustration as he scored 58 off 90 balls.

Darwen were on the verge of defeat when they were 9 wickets down, however young Chris Crompton held his nerve with Andrew Cook at the crease as he guided the visitors to level the scores on 150-9 at the close. Liam Dugdale 3-38 and Brad Earls 3-30 were Nethefirld's best bowlers
Preston v Fleetwood
Fleetwood had an easy win at Preston, Preston were bowled out for 74, Heszer Mahmood 25 and Murtaza Hussain 17 the only batsmen to reach double figures.
Tom Clarke 3-13 and Anthony Ellison 3-22 were the Fleetwood bowlers who did the damage
Fleetwood had an early shock loosing two early wickets but Alex Ryder 51 not out and Wayne Clarke 15 not out saw Fleetwood home
