St Annes set a new record for a team total with their 325-5 against Carnforth but it still did not give them their first victory of the season as the home side held on at 226-6 for a draw, St Annes sixth of the season. Adrian Darlington led the way with 75, Ian Austin made 69, substitute professional Saeed Anwar junior made 45, Stephen Twist finished with 44 not out and Gareth Evans made 37. The Hornbys for Carnforth both did well, Adam making 57 not out and Ben 49, Atiq Uz Zaman made 48 and there were three scores of 23 by Lyndell Richardson, Ryan Nelson and Darren Moore as Carnforth played out time. For St Annes Anwar bowled unchanged to take 2-80 and Twist took 2-35.
Fleetwood had a splendid win at Kendal where the home side batted first and made a respectable 203-7 with Kevin Howarth top scoring with 58 and he was helped by 26 from Ikram Ullah, 39 from Phil Thornton and 32 from Graeme Aldridge. For Fleetwood Kyle Smit, who had earlier taken 2-43, got among the runs as he hit 65 and with Adam Sharrocks making 50 and the in-form Michael Clinning 44, Fleetwood won by five wickets with 204-5.
Blackpool skipper Paul Danson led by example at Stanley Park. Having seen his side restrict Chorley to 145-8 he found himself at the crease with the Blackpool innings in trouble at 92-8. But he went on to make an undefeated 52 and with James Smith, 10 not out, saw Blackpool home by two wickets at 146-8. Stephen John, 3-74, and Gaurav Dhar, 5-68, bowled unchanged for Chorley for whom Ian Mawdesley made a top score of 50, Michael Critchley made 40 not out and John made 27 as Justin Kreusch took 3-52 before going on to make 44 with the bat.
Netherfield beat Leyland by 77 runs at Fox Lane as they posted a formidable 231-7 with Chris Parry making 64, Ryan Brown 55, Craig Walmsley 37, Mark Daley 30 and Scott Clement 20 not out. Ameer Khan took all the Netherfield wickets and finished with 7-92 from 19 overs. Khan then dominated the Leyland batting and made 79, a good job he did for only Chris Parkinson with 22 and Peter Cummings with 13 reached double figures among the batsmen. Marc Hadwin took 4-51 in 20.4 overs and Daley completed a good all-round day with 3-43.
Preston batted first at West Cliff and made 186 thanks to 66 from Lukman Vahaluwala, 41 from Sajid Patel and 22 from Yasin Patel as Werner Coetsee took 5-58 and Jono Gates 3-68. Mark Lomas made 46 in Morecambe's reply and Gareth Peddar, 33, Coetsee, 30, Phil Dennison, 21, all chipped in to give Morecambe their two wicket win at 188-8. Rhys Williams took 3-27 and Bilal Asad took 3-64 for Preston.
Finally Lancaster and Darwen played out a draw at Lune Road where the home side made 201-9 with Jannisar Khan making 60 and Michael Stevens 42. In Darwen's reply of 168-9 Gary Jackson top scored with 52 as Iain Burstow took 4-45 for Lancaster.

Individual performance of the day in the Second Division was Ben Haddrick's 153 for Netherfield but even then he was not on the winning side for Leyland replied to Netherfield's 314-7 with 251-5. On the bowling front, there were six wickets each for the evergreen Adrian 'Shed' Potts, 6-51, as Kendal defeated Fleetwood by 36 runs at Broadwater and also for Lancaster's Luke Stockhill, 6-64, as his side defeated Darwen, 129 all out, by six wickets thanks to Luke Phillips' 65 not out.
