DARWEN AND NETHERFIELD ONLY TEAMS WITH TWO WINS

Darwen and Netherfield are the only teams to start the season with two wins, the newly formed Leyland have not had a good start with two losses.

Darwen at home to Kendal bowled the Cumbrians out for 96, Jeff Hacking taking 5-10, in reply their professional Atif Ashraf recorded an unbeaten 51, for an easy 7 wicket victory

Netherfield also at home against Lancaster, Lancaster reached 187 in 49.4 overs, Jamie Heywood their top scorer with 64 and professional Jannisar Khan 51.
Netherfield's substitute professional Asif Mujtaba took 5-41. in reply Chris Parry scored 73, Ryan Brown 41 and Mujtaba 52no seeing Netherfield home by 7 wickets

Roles were reversed at Broadwater, winners last week Chorley crashed to 78 all out, Fleetwood professional Kyle Smit taking 5-18.
Fleetwood knocked off the runs in 21.2 overs Nick Coultas 48no and Michael Clinning 24 in their 9 wicket victory.

Champions Morecambe were back to winning ways bowling Leyland out for 85, the Morecambe professional Werner Coetsee taking 5-25, it only took 17 overs to score the required runs, Vishnal Goyol 30, and captain Mark Lomas 32no and pro Coetsee 34 no cruising to a 8 wicket win

Blackpool had an unhappy day at Carnforth, the visitors making 181-9 in their 50 overs, professional Justin Kreusch 59, Charles Boucher 31 and Tom Reece 27 the othe main contributors to the Blackpool cause.
Carnforth captain Atiq Uz Zaman saw his side home to an easy win with 125no with Darren Moore 40no in 32 overs.

Barrow were in a close game with St Annes at Ernest Pass, St Annes reached 191 in 49.2 overs Gareth Evans leading the way with 72, Ian Austin 26 the next highest scorer. Barrow were 182 - 7, professional Pasan Wanasinghe 71, with contributions from Robin Adams 30 and Ian Allington 28.

There were two close games in the Second Division, Lancaster entertained Netherfield at Lune Road, Lancaster made 136 thanks to Luke Stockhill 46 and Craig Heywood 45. Netherfield were made to fight for their win, Ben Haddrick 39, Philip Hartley 21 and a last wicket stand between Graeme Baker 15no and Nathan Chambers 2no saw Netherfield home.

The other game was between Chorley and Fleetwood at Windsor Park, Chorley were 2 runs behind with the 9 wickets down at the end of their 50 overs.
Tom Wilson 105 no and Stephen Metcalf 59 taking the visitors to 221 - 4 after 50 overs. John Hotham 31, Michael Critchley 31 Ian Oakes led the way in the chase with no 9 Ross Demming 23no in Chorley's 219 - 9 at stumps.

Blackpool beat Carnforth by 8 wickets, Ben Hornby 51 being top scorer in Carnforth's 137. David Booth taking 7 - 35 in 15 overs.
Steven Mercer 57no and John Caunce 55no saw Blackpool home to a 7 wicket win.

Darwen had a successful journey to Kendal bowling the home side out for 113, Andrew Dugdale making 57 with Nathan Carr taking 4-27.
Gary Jackson made 78 no out of 114 to take Darwen to their 7 wicket win

Morecambe's Peter Stephens took all the wickets that fell in the Leyland innings of 103 to finnish with 8-25, In Morecambe's 6 wicket win Michael Fisher 43no and Bilal Roosool 21no led the way.

Barrow had a disastrous start at St Annes but recoeverd to 164 thanks to Lee Cosgrove 81, Jordan Nicholson 22 no and Glen Kermode 12.
St Annes started well with Andy Kellett 41 and Adam Taylor 31, but then lost wickets and Sean Bickerdike 32no and debutant Gareth Costin 31no guided St Annes home to a 5 wicket win
