The wide geographical spread of the clubs with the long travelling times has made it difficult for the Northern League to successfully run Junior Competitions for its clubs. However all Clubs have strong Junior Sections and enter teams in U/11, U/13 and U/15 competitions in local Leagues. Each Club has qualified coaches and has links with Local Primary and Secondary Schools. The large numbers attending Junior practice nights, the number who progress from Junior teams to the Senior teams and to representative cricket at the highest level is an indication of the hard work and commitment invested by the Clubs in young players. It is important that Clubs notify Clive Henderson (see below) of any players of any age whose clubs think they are worthy of consideration for a Representative or County trial.
