Darwen make it two from two

Darwen continued their fine start to their Jamie Heywood Twenty20 Cup sponsored by Latham Baxendale campaign when they followed up their thrilling victory over Leyland on Tuesday with a comprehensive defeat of Preston.
John Cordingley's side is determined to win at least one trophy in the Club's centenary year and they have what appears to be an ideally suited team to the shorter version of the game.

Darwen bowled out the visitors for just 66 at a chilly Birch Hall with only Mohsin Modhi and Sajid Nalbandh making double figures.
Nalbandh hit the only boundaries of the innings, a six and a four in the tenth over but bowler Chris Clarke recovered to take 1/17.
Neil Cordingley made the early inroads, snapping up the wickets of openers Sajid Patel and Craig Crook while Niall Burke weighed in with the scalps of pro Saeed Bariwala and Modhi. Chris Wade bowled Preston skipper Lukman Vahaluwala for 6 and pro Zimmy Khan finished off the tail with a spell of 3/7 before last man Imtiaz Matak was run out by John Cordingley.
