Kendal reach Furness Building Society Cup Final

Terry Hunte was Kendal's hero at Blackpool

Kendal reached the final of the Furness Building Society Cup by defeating Blackpool by 50 runs at Stanley Park.
Shap Road legend Terry Hunte rolled back the years with an undefeated 80 off 79 balls in Kendal's 180 for 2 off their 40 overs.
Hunte added an unbroken 106 for the third wicket with professional and captain Ross McMillan who finished 52 not out.

Blackpool were restricted to 130 for 9 in reply with Richard Gleeson top-scoring with an undefeated 26 and Andy Furniss making 24 before he was run out.
Nick Lewthwaite took three for 19 for Kendal and Alan Dugdale two for 26 while Kevin Howarth bowled four overs and finished with the extraordinary analysis of one for 2.
Ben Simm accounted for the Blackpool sub-pro Jeeva Kulatunga, who made a century for the club against Darwen recently, for one.

Kendal will face the winners of next Sunday's semi-final between Darwen and Netherfield in the final on Sunday 30 August.
The winners of the second semi-final will have home advantage in the final.

Leyland face Chorley in Division Two Final

Meanwhile Leyland will face Chorley in the Division Two Final at Fox Lane on Sunday 6 September.
In the semi-finals Leyland defeated Fleetwood by three wickets at Fox Lane while Chorley accounted for division two league leaders Lancaster by 72 runs at Windsor Park.

Opener Mark Emsley hit 40 as Fleetwood made 143 in their 40 overs at Fox Lane, Steven Pallett returning three for 30. Stephen Cartwright, Monty Cottam and Tom Coxhead each took two wickets in a tight Leyland bowling performance.
Opener Nathan McDonnell top-scored with 34 on Leyland's reply with Pallett (28 not out) and Laurence Shackleton (21 not out) seeing Chris Dovey's side home in a tense finish with 16 balls to spare.

Meanwhile, David Catterall, father of Chorley First XI captain Jack, made 42 in Chorley's 162 with Robert Beale taking four for 15.
Lancaster were dismissed for 90 in reply to go down by 72 runs, Kieran McCullagh adding to his valuable innings of 29 by taking four for 16.
