Fleetwood start with victory over St Annes
Fleetwood started well with a comprehensive 66 runs victory over St Annes at Broadwater.
At Broadwater Chesney Hughes hit 52 off 40 balls to help Fleetwood post a competitive 158 for 7 against an under-strength St Annes side.
Fleetwood captain James Ellis hit six boundaries in a 27 ball- innings of 40 to maintain the momentum.
Young St Annes bowlers Greg Whitehead and Nathan Bolus each took two wickets.
Despite innings of 25 each from Stephen Twist and Paul Wilks St Annes were bowled out for 92 in the final over and have now lost both their opening T20 games
Ellis completed a fine captain's performance with three catches and two stumpings behind the timbers.
Spinner Mike Clinning did most damage for Fleetwood taking four for 14 with Adam Breakall claiming two for 15.
