In North Two Lancaster started the game against Morecambe two points adrift but with a superior run rate. Last Monday the league executive decided that a definite result had to be achieved if the game was to go ahead on the last possible day having urged clubs to complete fixtures in good time. This decision was conveyed to both captains on Monday evening.
After a delayed start Lancaster, invited to bat by Morecambe captain Tommy Clough, were bowled out for 101 in the last over. Brendan Hetherington and Mike Stevens top-scored, each making 17. Graeme Cassidy took four for 16 and Gareth Pedder 3 for 13. Rain stopped play with Morecambe 10 for no wicket after 2 overs in reply.
