Chairman's Report 2016
Prior to the 2016 season commencing financial irregularities came to light. Enquireries are ongoing and it must be stressed that steps have now been taken to strengthen our procedures.
The loss of funds obviously affected the League in many ways.
The annual presentation night at Leyland Golf Club could now not be held and also the league did not have the finances to provide indvidual medals for players umpires and scorers.
One more very sad occurance in the 2016 season was the sad loss of Darwen Cricket club who have decided to join another league
However on a brighternote we can look back on a fine season when the Division One title was won by Leyland CC who also won the Division Two title and the Division Twp Readers Cup. I offer my congratulations to them for this magnificent achievment
The Division One Readers Cup was won by Netherfield CC and the Lukeys Twenty/20 competition was won by Fleetwood CC and I offer my congratulations to both these clubs too
Also I would like to offer my sincere thanks on behalf of myself and all our member clubs to our Umpires for their dedicated work they put in week in week out throughout the season in carrying out their duties of officiating matches
Finally my sincere thanks to go to all the volunteers who work extremly hard behind the scenes at our Clubs, such as Catering, Bar staff, Groundsmen etc. and many more who give up their time on match days helping to keep our clubs ticking over.
