Carnforth v Lancaster

Lancaster maintained their 100% record

Lancaster their 100 percent records in this season's Twenty20 competition with a convincing victory on Friday evening

Lancaster recorded a quick-fire double over Carnforth, beating their hosts by 56 runs.

Michael Walling was the star of the show, scoring a superb 60 off 29 balls with three sixes and eight fours, an innings that provided the focal point of his side's 172 for 7.

Jamie Heywood, with a cleanly-struck 34, and Carnforth old boy Ryan Nelson (25) provided the main support.

Carnforth pro Ryan Bailey, who also acted as his side's captain, was the best bowler with a spell of three for 19 and Gareth Denwood bowled well to record figures of two for 22.

Carnforth's reply got off to a disastrous start with Lewis Bradley and Ben Hornby both run out after misunderstandings with Bailey. When Bailey was then bowled by Danny Milligan for 21 the game was effectively over.

Tom Barnfield delayed the inevitable for a while, top-scoring with 41 off 37 balls, hitting two sixes and four fours.

Walling completed a fine personal game with three for 23, while Liam Moffat and stand-in captain Mike Stevens each took two wickets as Carnforth folded for 116.
