Morecambe captain Mark Lomas plays a leg glance |
Morecambe were the only Furness Building Society Northern Cricket League club to progress to the next round of the Barclays Wealth LCB Knock-Out Cup as rain ruined Sunday's programme.
The all Northern League clash between St Annes and Kendal at Vernon Road and Blackpool's tie against Bolton Association side Little Hulton both fell victim to the rain.
Both ties will now be staged next Sunday (24 May).
Morecambe's game at Bury CC started late and was reduced to one of 41 overs-per-side.
Morecambe had struggled to 61 for 6 off 26 overs when the rain intervened and there was no further play.
But Morecambe skipper Mark Lomas came up trumps in the bowl-out. He was the only bowler to hit the stumps and Morecambe progressed 1-0. They will be at home to the winners of the Winton-Cheetham Hill tie in round two.

Meanwhile Preston defeated Netherfield on a bowl-out to progress in the ECB National Knock-Out as Preston CC's Steve Coughlan reports:
Preston progressed to the next round of this cup after winning a bowl out 3-2, and will now play away against Chorley next Sunday.
Netherfield won the toss and elected to bat and posted 257 for 9 in their allotted 45 overs. Chris Walmsley struck 77 with five fours and three sixes. Alex Atkinson scored 51, with Jonty McDonald returning the best bowling figures of 3 for 35 off his seven overs.
When Preston batted Adam Parker hit a quick 51 including six fours and three sixes in 53 minutes. But at 89 for 3 the heavens opened once again and because only 16 overs had been bowled and not the minimum overs of 20 to constitute a game the match was abandoned and the game decided by the bowl-out.
