Ross McMillan played a captain's innings for Kendal |
Holders Morecambe crashed out of the Furness Building Society Cup at the quarter-final stage while David Wiese produced another explosive innings to steer Darwen through to the semi-finals.
Netherfield also reached the last four after defeating Chorley while Blackpool overcame Fleetwood in the local derby at Stanley Park.
At Woodhill Lane Kendal captain and professional Ross McMillan batted responsibly on a slow-paced pitch to make the highest score of the game, 51 off 87 balls.
McMillan hit six fours and one six and was the only Kendal batsman to master a miserly Morecambe bowling attack. Ryan Smith earned the key wickets of Kevin Howarth, superbly stumped by Lewis Edge off a wide, and Terry Hunte who was bowled.
Graham Lee showed his experience with a typically astute bowling spell, dismissing three of the Kendal top six for only 10 runs in his eight overs.
Professional Mandla Mashimbyi took three for 20 including the wicket of McMillan, caught by Ikram Ullah just as he was looking to accelerate in the closing stages.Tommy Clough and Ryan Smith weighed in with two wickets apiece. Paul Dodds was second highest runs scorer with 12.

Ikram Ullah got the Morecambe reply off to an explosive start blasting four boundaries off McMillan's opening over but was then well caught by Gareth Ashburner off Stuart Parkin for 17.
Morecambe struggled against an accurate six-pronged Kendal bowling attack and lost wickets regularly.

Their last hopes effectively disappeared when Mashimbyi was well caught at mid on by Mark Phillips off Howarth for 13, Edge caught behind off Phillips for 15 and then Phil Dennison adjudged leg before to Ben Simm for 21.
Off-spinner Simm worked his way through the tail to finish with four for 13 as Morecambe fell 35 runs adrift.

David Wiese hit his second century of the weekend to inspire Darwen to their second semi-final place as they beat St Annes by 44 runs in a high-scoring encounter at Vernon Road.
After making 128 off 53 balls at Chorley on Friday to take Darwen through to the last four of the Twenty20 competition, Wiese hit 129 off 80 balls to destroy the St Annes bowling attack.
The highly talented South African all-rounder hit 17 fours and seven sixes and shared a second wicket stand of 188 with Chris Lowe, who made 79. Teenager Nahan Bolus escaped from the carnage with figures of three for 42 off four overs, including the wicket of Wiese, caught by Stephen Twist.
In reply to Darwen's 264 for 7 none of the top-line St Annes got the big score needed to take their team home. Atiq Uz-Zaman perished to a Nathan Jackson catch for 27 off Stuart Hampson and skipper Andy Kellett was caught behind by Jordan Clarke off Hampson for 31.
Hampson pinned Duncan Whalley leg before for 35, pro Dinuka Hettiarachchi was a victim of Darwen captain Andrew Cook for 2 and Twist bowled by Chris Clarke for 36.
Michael Baer top-scored with 40 off 43 balls as St Annes finished 44 runs short on 220 for 6, Hampson claiming three for 35.
Netherfield also passed the 200-mark, reaching 202 for 9 against a depleted Chorley side at Parkside Road.
Teenagers Alex Atkinson and John Huck again impressed with half centuries and shared a fourth wicket stand of 67. Atkinson hit 54 off 65 balls and Huck top-scored with 57 off 70 balls while pro Glen Batticciotto made 34.
When Chorley professional Chris Hartley was run out for 29 the visitors were in trouble and despite a valiant 52 off 51 balls by deputy captain Andrew Holdsworth they finished 32 runs short as they were bowled out for 170. Batticciotto took four for 31 and Scott Clement two for 19.
Andy Furniss and John Mounsey helped Blackpool through to the last four at Stanley Park.
The former Palace Shield pair, who both joined Blackpool this season, shared a second wicket stand of 82 that provided the cornerstone of their side's reply to Fleetwood's 139 for 9.
Mounsey was leg before to Fleetwood pro Hendrik van der Dussen for 32 while Furniss made 54 off 73 balls with eight boundaries before he was caught behind off Adam Breakell. Blackpool got home by four wickets with nine balls to spare despite fine bowling by Tom Blundell who took three for 19.
Van der Dussen's 59 was the key contribution for Fleetwood after Andy Hogarth removed openers Nick Coultas and Chesney Hughes cheaply. Hogarth, professional Sajeewa Weerakoon and Second XI captain Steven Mercer each took three wickets in an impressive display of out cricket by Paul Danson's side.
